Price won't be extended, Galchenyuk and Beaulieu will be traded, Radulov will move on, Bergevin will make the team less talented, sign an over the hill C to a dumb contract and we'll all be watching another year of soul-less garbage hockey.

There are chances of the scenario happening. Price could just push negotiations to next March/June with Radulov getting good offers from non-pink glasses teams.

That is a much better line-up. I'm good with all of your moves except for Sergachev. He isn't getting moved. Especially in the same off-season as Beaulieu. Sergachev is now what the organization thought of Beaulieu (a young LD who can skate and grow to take Markov's spot). With Beaulieu not having lived up to that hype, it is now Sergachev in that spot.

I don't want to move him either, but my thought process was with bringing in Fowler you extend the time you need to find a top pairing LHD. Also, think Juulsen could surprise and play with Benn on the bottom pairing.

Normally not much happens in August but there's still time for change. Early recap looks as follows:

No president of hockey ops. So Bergevin has no one to be accountable to.

Timmins is still here. There was chair shuffling but no personnel changes.

No assistant coach fired, just one guy who left to pursue other opportunities.

Lefebvre was re signed.

Radulov did not re sign.

They did sign a top 10 UFA according to TSNs list. Unfortunately for us, it was the worst one.

Price was extended.
Beaulieu was traded.
Chucky has not been (yet)

Emelin was claimed not Hudon.

Bergevin did acquire depth in forward and defense.

No Flynn or King extensions afaik

Did not acquire a top line or a second line C.

Lost a top LD, did not acquire one. Alzner is bad and even if you like him, would qualify as a second pairing d maximum.

They selected Poehling and Ikonen. I say maybe as I'm not sure if either project as C at the NHL level.

All in all. A rather bad summer for MB to this point. Only bright side is he didn't trade Galchenyuk.

I don't like my centers being weak at puck distribution. His best asset is deflections which is more of a winger role in the offensive zone.

If he makes it. He's a 3C or a complimentary winger.

Edit: my opinion has changed, so we can forget this part.

Remove what's come and gone (Radulov, Beaulieu, Flynn, Price extension, etc), ask if Pacioretty is going to be traded, and try to figure out who will be this year's Brière/Parenteau/Semin/Streit/Hemsky/Hail Mary

Bang on Mr Dave. Yet another classic example of a player that the rest of the league sees as average at best but M.Bergevin sees as yet another character underdog that can be a star. He values players that are copies of himself as a player, what a great guy to have manage your team.
