Habs captain question

    Haven't been able to find this anywhere. In 1957-58 when the Rocket went down with an achilles injury, did Harvey or anyone else replace him as captain and wear the "C"?

    I'm not 100% sure about that but I don't think anybody took up the C. Montreal is very conservative on who got the letter on his sweater. Koivu missed a whole season and wasn't replaced either.

    that was just as a tribute to him though. 2 years before he missed most of the season and Corson wore the C in that time.

    You may be right. I remember Koivu being injured for long peroids very often but still I don't remember any other captains in the last few years (Gilmour?:dunno: ). Anyway, I don't recall any information mentioning Harvey or anyone else taking the C for half a season. I have a few book I will look that in this week end.
