Mike Babcock knows more about hockey than I ever will but my god can he actually give Weiss a ****ing break? He was one of the few forwards that played well last game and he gets rewarded by being paired with Joakim "I suck at hockey" Andersson? For good god, it's like he wants him to fail. Weiss was outstanding when he first came back being paired with Pavel and Helm, but despite that line averaging over 2 goals a game for an 8 game period, Babcock decides that was making things too easy and demotes him to the third line, where he still put up the most points per ice time on the team. Yes he is overpaid and yes if cap space becomes an issue I would not be against buying him out (though hopefully not until at least another year) but he is still a good pp specialist and middle 6 player. He's being underutilized. Dude is scoring at a 50 point pace, and Babcock still plays him 10 minutes a night, meanwhile the Abdelkader-Zetterberg-Nyquist line stays together despite not scoring since what seems like the last lockout.
