I think one of the biggest things Chia brought was personnel changes. He fired scouts and brought in an entirely new coaching staff. I think the roster would pretty much be the same. I think people are justified to be hard on MacT but he wasn't horrible with his trades.

I don't even want to think about any of the dumb sh it Mactavish might have done. Two off seasons of it was enough for me. It wouldn't have surprised me to see Buchberger as head coach or even if Eakins could have wormed his way back into the job. His demotion has gotten my blood pressure back to a manageable level.

If MacTavish was truly in charge still:

Eakins would not have been fired.

Oilers would have placed last so most likely they would have drafted Eichel. Having viewed Eichel's personality it is highly probable that he would have gone back to college to avoid the gong show.

Looking at these scenarios it would be a much darker draft and off season if Mac was still in charge. Sad thing is most of these scenario I could see happening under Macs rule. I am so glad we have Chiarelli he worked harder in this draft and off season then Mac T ever did in his whole gm career.

Only things I couldn't have seen MacT do is trade Boyd Gordon and acquire Eric Gryba, both aren't very MacT-like moves.
