I thought it was a very solid movie and a very satisfying ending. They forced a lot of jokes and scenes though, especially the CCCP dog. Also, was that dog CGI? Because that would've been freakin' stupid to do that because you got trained dogs that can do 97% of the stuff the dog did in the movie.

I might be the few, but I like that the Guardians still had a lot of rough-around-the-edges sort of chemistry (or thereof), but still had animosity with each other. I thought it felt very natural and it wasn't like some of those "we only know each other for ten minutes, but we can take down an entire army brigade" like what happened in the first Avengers film.

Finally saw it tonight, and now I can view this thread again :laugh:

Loved it. Tugged all the heartstring throughout. Not only an excellent movie, but it tied up the trilogy so nicely.

It was interesting that, compared to recent MCU movies, they didn't really overdo it in terms of trying to make it connected to the multi-verse saga. It really stand well on its own .. Quill probably returns in the next Avengers movie at some point

It's going to be overmarked because it's in the MCU but the GoTG, as a trilogy on its own, it up there amongst the best all time IMO. May not be recognized as such.

I was expected some different surprises at the end but I think Gunn did a great job keeping things simple but also directly wrapping things up in this trilogy.

Despite Warlock not being in the movie a ton, they did a great job introducing him and I thought that Poulter portrayed him well. In terms of new hero introductions, they did a great job flashing his ability but also his room to grow.

High Evolutionary was an excellent villain. One of the best we've seen in the MCU.

Rocket's backstory... holy smoke that hit the feelings.

Sad this saga is over.

Seom from the deleted scenes that will be on the Blu-ray, it's Kraglin that invites Adam Warlock to join the new GotG team and as I mentioned above, I think The High Evolutionary is till alive and is locked up in Knowhere. The description of the deleted scene "Knowhere After the Battle," the description reads, "The High Evolutionary is brought back to Knowhere and locked up while Kraglin recruits Adam Warlock."

It was in reply to this post that I brought it up this morning.

And I realize now that Mario pointed out that he was not on the ship but did not mention that he was behind bars on Knowhere. Totally missed this post back then.

Finally saw this. At least 4 times during this I said to myself, 'This is garbage.'

At one point I was trying to imagine how bad the experience would be if they had written an actual score for this movie instead of relying on a hipsters spotify play list to fill us with feelings of nostalgia.

The only good part of this movie was the re-mix they did for the Spacehog song 'In the meantime'.

"fetch quests" .. I like that description. I called it island hopping last night The main conflict/plot was "saving rocket" but the movie just turned into tedious mini quests that seemed more aligned with providing comedic backdrop (living room scene on Counter Earth). Its funny bc its fish out of water = Drax on couch.

Music was forced and way over done. I get that its a trademark of Guardians/Gunn but mostly forced.

Watched it last night. While I enjoyed it, I didn't love it as much as most of the internet does. Definitely too long.

But yeah, the Rocket stuff and the villain were very well done. Same with the soundtrack, as always.

The CGI was absolutely awful at points. The first half or more felt like torture porn it was so depressing. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Batista was hilarious as usual and some of the sentimentality at the end helped. Uneven is a good way to put.
