I restricted the debate to M.Richard, Béliveau, Harvey, Lafleur and Morenz.No goalies (which is why I used the word ''skater'' and not ''player'').

If you are talking actual skater then I suggest that Serge Savard be on that list. Savard was the smoothest skater ever to don the CH

Yeah, when I saw "skater" I assumed it was a poll about the best (fastest) skaters. Cournoyer would be on my list.

I'm 99% sure they said skater because if they just said best player you'd have to consider Roy/Dryden etc.

That has to be "best player", since no one writes "best skating skater" and because, well, those five seem to me like the obvious five best non-goalies. And BenchBrawl knows what he's saying so there's probably no way he wouldn't have put Cournoyer amongst choices.

I always thought Vladimir Malakhov was one of the best and smoothest skater I saw in Montreal. Just effortless.

Cournoyer, Henri Richard, Lafleur, Courtnall, Byron,Frank Mahovlich, Mats Naslund .... Murray Wilson was a great skater, too !
