He was never really more than a 5-6 kinda guy but he actually did pretty damn well when he had to move up. He wasn't consistent but he elevated his play more than he let it drop.

A sad day for hockeynames... despite his you know being absent the whole season already.

What back injury did he have? Did he come out to say what it was?

Went to college with him, good to have seen him make the career he did. Never really expected it to happen because he wasn't really dominant, but more of an effort type of guy.

71 points in 205 games, not bad. He was always solid when we needed him to move up the depth chart due to injuries. Too bad it ended the way it did for him.

He played well for the Jets. Defensively responsible, smooth transition player, and had a decent shot from the point. It's too bad his back cut his career short.

It will be interesting to see if he stays in the game in some capacity.

Sad to see one of the best names in hockey go, but if his injury was really that severe then it was the right call to make.

31 years old and retiring, good thing he has that education to fall onto.

Most noteworthy for his name. It's a shame he has to go out this way.

Clitsome was a pretty good player for the Jets. He was well rounded, could skate and hit.

While not his biggest hit, my favourite highlight of him is when he leveled Ovechkin.

Effort guy, but had some really good tools. Smooth skater, big shot, short stature but absolutely jacked, solid build.

Was too mistake prone to be counted on heavily, but overall was a very solid waiver pickup for the Jets.
