I'm still really curious, for no reason at all, why Strickland of all people picked him up.

This is a bit of a stretch, but could the St. Louis connection be in part because they have spoken with Snow about acquiring Grabner and want to stay close to him to monitor his health? Yeah, that's a stretch...probably a doctor (specialist) in that area known for these surgeries.

But just think of the long passes Stastny could hit Grabner with so he could skate in all alone...and not score. :sarcasm:

Are you unaware of the injury list around the NHL right now?

I am very aware of the IR list but with that said the Isles are always plagued in this department more then any other team. This organization needs to invest a hell of a lot more in the health department and making sure our guys dont get hurt as often.

I think this is just bias because we focus mostly on the Isles. We haven't been in the top half of the league in man games lost to injury for a while now. We were 16th last year. Even when you weight by cap hip and salary, we weren't even in the top half of the league last year.

That may be true but we had the injuries that we couldn't afford last season. Nabakov and Visnovsky were not able to be replaced as both the D and the Goaltending depth were surprisingly ignored a year ago.

But that happening obviously taught mgmt a lesson and they seriously addressed those needs for this season. So maybe it was a good thing, getting Dal Colle and all the new acquisitions. The Isles weren't going far last season, even if healthy.

With the current depth, if we are in the middle of the pack with injuries again, we should be ok.

We could probably close this thread and go with the general Injury Thread that already exists. Not trying to play mod, but old habits die hard. ;)
