Got the call up... to play with some of my hockey idols in a charity game. I'm 41 now and not as much of a player as I was. But I never thought I would get a chance to play a game with NHLers (even if there are retired). Obviously the post title is a joke. I didnt even expect to play in the game but they guys wanted a few Vets on the team and I was picked to play with them (Jay Caufield, Phil Bourque, Tyler Kennedy, Colby Armstrong, JS Aubin, Francois Leroux, John Zeiler.) Now to get some ice time in over the next week and try not to embaress myself lol!

Pro tip: fight the first guy you see, that'll send a message to the rest of them

I gotta do this one of these years. In Canada there's a mini charity tournament called hockey helps the homeless that some of my teammates participate in, costs about $500 though and haven't been able to bite the bullet. Guaranteed minimum 3 games and each team gets 2 NHL/Olympic alumni, looking at the roster in Vancouver this year the list includes:

Hey guys I had a blast playing in this game! In the locker room the guys were joking about "lets keep the game close and and have some fun". I think that plan went out the window as soon as they touched the puck. I think the final score was 12-3. Heres some of the players I got to be on the same team with.
