99% sure Bettman told GMGM not to announce anything until after the Finals are over. Wouldn't want to take away from the excitement of them, even though there's 1-2 day stretches where absolutely nothing is happening.

Just builds up more angst for hockey fans, wondering what their team is going to do, I guess.

Why was Shipachyov different then. The announcement wasn't hold back, the NHL even rejected it because of a wrong NTC and we needed to file a new contract.

I think because he was just a minor signing from overseas. Not that we VGK fans think he's minor. But, it's not an major Expansion Draft trade, or a signing from another team that would make hockey fans take notice, and ruin Uncle Gary's spotlight.

Now that the Cup has been presented, hopefully we'll get **** moving soon.
