The only time I saw Brett Hull in person, it was 1986 and he was a Moncton Golden Flame.
In retrospect that team was loaded with future NHLers including Gary Roberts,
Randy Burridge, Bob Sweeney, Wade Campbell, etc.
Yet, Hull stood out for the most ridiculously quick release I"d ever seen
and a knack for drifting in and out to find passing lanes for feeds.
I had no idea that he'd become the golden Brett. He was mostly a novelty to see then, being Bobby's son.
Then again, not many scouts had any idea whom he'd become either.
Bravo, Brett
