I’ve tried to summarize the main talking points for each team as much as possible for anyone curious. Some of it is already out there, but I’ve tried to cover most of what was talked about.

Note of course that there’s a chance I may have missed some crucial wording and/or listening to your favourite team(s) sections might provide better context.

Tampa

Believes Brisebois already started planning the budgeting for next year before the RTP. Talked to some of the guys always mentioned(Killorn, Johnson, Gourde) and the early answer was they didn’t want to leave for a new location. Since they took less $ because they like the Team/location they'd prefer they don't have to leave for a location they won't like as much.

Believes teams will ask on Sergachev and “Does he want a bigger role”

Doesn’t know how eager teams will be on offer sheets especially with bonuses right now.

Dallas

Bowness - Sounds like both sides are interested in returning with him as the coach. Trending in direction he’ll be back.

Khudobin might have priced himself out of Dallas. Guesses that moving Bishop and keeping Khudobin isn’t a option.

Some disappointment in bigger players.

Might become a challenging financial puzzle for the Stars.

Atlantic Division

Boston
Krug 6x6.5 last offer.
Sniffing around OEL could determine what direction they go

Buffalo

Eichel - Is a story to watch in a year from now if things don’t improve

Montour - Arb # is potentially scary. Might be a case where they check what’s available

Would like to add a goalie

Detroit
Andy Greene someone of potential interest

Markstrom interest is noted again

General talk about #4 OA that’s all been talked about before

Florida

Heard they’re Interested in Borowiecki

Some people around the league have said they wouldn’t be surprised if Zito tries to bring in Murray from CBJ

Florida talked to Dadonov about a return. Expected that Hoffman will test the market

Montreal

Thinks Bergevin will believe he needs to make the playoffs.
Said he wanted a LHD. He went and got it done with Edmundson

Saying he’s not in Laine to Friedman means Bergevin knows he doesn’t have the match - RHD/C Jets want available.

Thinks he’ll be looking at all the FA wingers

Ottawa

Thinks Ottawa is looking to get their business done - Get Tkachuk, Tierney, Brown, Duclair , so they can avoid arbitration

Curious to see what they do with goaltending. Internal or external ?

Temporary disability insurance which is available to players when injured will be collected by the Sens instead of their loaned players if they get injured/are out when the NHL Season starts. Sens look at it as protecting themselves.

Toronto

Friedman still believes next Pietrangelo’s #1 choice is to return to St Louis.

Thinks if Pietrangelo is not an option they’ll go down the list of RHD FAs and pick 2 or 3 guys. Demelo, Gudas, Tanev, Vatanen etc.

Metropolitan Division

Carolina

Svechnikov wants to bet on himself. Short term bridge deal. Carolina offer was more of a “Hey we can get this done now if you want”

Thinks they’re in on Laine. Suggested something like a deal around Necas and a Dman, but doesn’t know if that would be high on the Jets list
Upgrade in net if they can.

Columbus

Laine interest.

Believes they talked to Calgary(probably about a goalie). Not going anywhere

Thinks Murray is out there.

An interesting team to watch, but doesn’t know where the matches are yet.

New Jersey:

Team to watch. 18 and 20 are available for different possibilities. Up, down or players.

Thinks someone like Sergachev makes sense for them if he becomes available.

New York Islanders:

Notes as always he doesn’t get anything out of NYI.

Thinks they believe they’re really good and close.

Biggest issue is cap space.

Heard issue with Barzal will be term.

Lamoriello will go for it/take his swings when he believes his teams are good enough. Speculates Hall, Krug, Laine as things he’d be poking around on.

New York Rangers

People around the Rangers staying quiet on Lundqvist continuing to play. Leaving it up to him to comment on.

Main question is the Arb rights that DeAngelo and Strome have.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they checked in on Danault. No different than everyone else in that they want to get better at Center.

Philadelphia

Because of who they’ve got and their young talent you’ll hear them in a lot of trade rumours but doesn’t mean they’ll do it.

Believes they could do almost any deal they want. Teams will be calling them

Sites names like Laine, Gaudreau(him and Hayes are tight)
Believes Gostisbehere situation is where they’ll move on from it

Pittsburgh

Inflated goalie market is hindering the Pens situation. Heard teams with goalies available might have to wait until the FA situation is resolved.

Washington

Heard that Dillon would be somewhere in the 3.5 4M range if it gets done.

Panik as the possible cap move. Doesn’t know market on him.

Question on who will be the #2 alongside Samsonov

Central Division

Chicago

Crawford situation - Heard some rumblings on Colorado being interested.

Doesn’t have a huge read on Chicago’s situation. Crawford probably the first step and then that leads to other decisions.

Seabrook - Heard he looked at him missing the RTP as a chance to heal and has a refusal to give up. Best hope is he heals and plays better since it’s a difficult contract to move.

Colorado

Colorado is creative - sites Panarin offer

Believes they’ll get a goalie

Believes Zadorov is moving on, wonders about Jost as well.

Minnesota

Reaffirms the Russo rumours:
Believes Dubnyk/Donato to SJ has legs.

Florida interested in Donato too. Heard they have interest in Kunin as well.

Sites Soucy extension as progress being made

Guerin wants to “change the mix”

Believes Guerrin wants to keep Eriksson Ek,Greenway,Kunin to see what he’s got.

Nashville

Sees them as being one of the sneaky busy teams. Poile isn’t afraid.

Believes he has a lot of his forwards out there. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll move them/be able to move them. More about him testing the market.

Considered Turris Buyout. Doesn’t think they want to do it.

St Louis

Pietrangelo - A lot of tough negotiators on both sides. Doesn’t think St Louis will bend on bonuses(at least to the level he might like)

Thinks St Louis wants to open a spot for Kyrou.

Dunn situation is interesting to watch.

Pietrangelo situation oversees all other items, rest will follow.

Winnipeg

Friedman asked around if Laine wants a trade. Ambiguous response.

Seen as since Laine is unhappy about some things it might be better to sort it now rather than near the next negotiation. Moving him could be the right answer if they don’t want to

Put it as a better than decent chance it happens.

Little unfortunately may not be able to play again.

They need a center and they need a Defenceman. They might be swinging for the fences with Laine, but won’t give him away.

Demelo has a lot of interest. Best chance to test market.

Pacific Division

Anaheim

Heard they have a group of around /the early 10s they like in the draft before they believe it drops a bit . Could move down if the offer makes sense

Looking at a lot of guys internally to be improving this season,

Doesn’t expect they do a ton.

Arizona

OEL would like a finality to the situation, Arizona would like to see if they can get picks this year. Makes it more difficult with Boston and Vancouver not having their 2020 1sts.

Got the sense Boston backed off and Vancouver got in late and found out they were on his list.

A lot of talk it was going to be a player + 14OA + Bouchard from Edmonton, but Friedman believes that was never an option.

Calgary

Treliving is in on a lot of stuff.

Really looking at his defence - Chance Brodie returns, Safe to say Hamomic is gone

Hanifin has been out there awhile . Friedman believes deal with NJ was Hall + Vatanen for Hanifin + Bennett. Doesn’t think Bennett is going anywhere now.

Called on virtually every goaltender possible

Edmonton

Klefbom - Doesn’t know if it’s his shoulder or not. No one will confirm it.
Players/People around the organization said he looked really out of it/lacked the enthusiasm he usually has.

Has to make decisions on surgery that could knock him out part of/the whole season. Oilers have to weigh what to do next when he decides.

RNH - Extension as reported is in the works. RNH wants to stay

Puljujarvi- Thinks he’d prefer a fresh start, but Oilers don’t like the value out there.

Marek chimes in with that he’s heard whispers he’s a difficult player to play with. Brought up a talking point of if the players want him back.

Los Angeles

LA could do anything they want to do. Cap space, talented players,younger/older centers. This is from what teams have told Friedman.

Question is if they believe it’s the right time for them and teams have been told previously by the Kings they feel it's not the right time for them.

San Jose

What will the LaBanc deal look at like(This was more of a point of interest for them both)

Possibly move guys from the bottom of the roster like Sorenson to do other things cap wise.

Heard they’re looking for wingers/scorers,

Vancouver

OEL conversation is difficult.

Really doesn’t think they want to trade Boeser

Would like to try and keep Virtanen, but know it’s maybe not possible. Would like a hockey trade.

Markstrom #1 priority, but they know the market is pretty hot for him and Tanev.

Believes Stecher is gone.

Vegas

#1 What will be done in goal
#2 What has to be done if Pietrangelo is available

Wonders if they’ll try to use teams like Ottawa and Detroit as landing pads to eat salary and said teams can flip players out at a retained cap hit.

Whitecloud being the only RHD “got them” and whether it’s Pietrangelo or someone else he believes they really want to get a Right handed shot Dman.

I figured Greene could be a target for the Wings as he is from Michigan and he is winding down in his career

I'd be fine giving him 1 year contracts until he decides to retire, he would be our best defensive Dman if we signed him and his leadership cannot be understated
