The team has obviously tightened up hugely under Tocchet but that was a regression to the early-season Bruce 6-5 carnage. Team did not look organized, lots of individual mistakes, but battled back well to get a point.

- Boeser was terrible but got to 3 points off a PP deflection, a 2nd assist, and a low-percentage shot that led to a bad rebound. Absolute best-case scenario right now that he's putting up points and hopefully making himself tradeable, as long as they don't do a Benning and get attached to the recent results instead of the big picture.

- Kuzmenko back on PP1 and instantly it looks like a totally different unit. Ridiculous how he keeps getting taken off. Needs 3 goals in the last 8 games to get to 40.

- Pettersson probably the best player on the ice, and is 2 games away from the point streak record. Both he and Hughes continue delivering superstar performances most nights.

- Joshua was excellent on the top line. It defies physics how someone so slow and so lacking in lateral mobility can be such an outstanding forechecker and strip so many pucks.

- Beauvillier 0-1-1 in his last 7 games. This is the other side of the coin that NYI fans were talking about.

- Dries just can't play C at this level and proves it over and over again.

- Kravtsov did a few things but nothing ever leads to anything.

- Bear was terrific last game, not as good this game.

- Brisebois had a really poor game outside of just that turnover. Obviously he's been out for a few games injured so you cut him a bit of slack with that but needs to be better than that to stay in the league. Hronek also had his worst game but not easy to play with a fringe player having a rough night.

- Myers was full Chaos Giraffe. 17 guys are doing one thing and Myers is reading from a totally different playbook. Was mostly a liability tonight but did make a very good play on the 5-4 goal.

- weak game for Demko, maybe his worst since returning.

Was Hronek as bad as his -3 told?

No. There was maybe one goal he could have had a bit tighter coverage on but the other two goals were huge individual mistakes by other players that had nothing at all to do with him.

Brisebois had a rough game coming back after missing a few games through injury and that pairing didn't do well but I don't think Hronek was individually poor.

Joshua was motivated tonight. I felt like he got that tying goal - an assist will have to do, though.

Hughes and Petey continue to play incredible hockey. Kuzmenko with another excellent performance. That pass by Petey to him on his second was sick.

Really poor defensive game, but fun to watch the goals.

only caught the end of the game but just watched the highlights

first goal (like the OT goal) classic disconnected controller jtm is back

and if boes didn’t get his stick on that PP marker, is that a quinn hughes hat trick?

the bonkersest stat this season is he’s the first dman to get back to back 60 assust seasons since coffey and bourque in 93 and 94. can’t believe leetch didn’t do it in his big late 90s years (he hit 58 twice).

half the people who think their teams "defenseman" has moved into the running for the Norris arent having nearly as good of a season as Hughes

he got 5 votes last year (two 4th's, three 5th's)

like to see him get at least 20 votes total in the 4th and 5th place category
something like John Carlson or Toews got last season

Pettersson contributes to the game, Hughes controls and dominates the game. Their impact on this game in particular wasn't even close. Come on.

Thought we we were safe at 5 to 2 but Gods were only fooling with us. Far as the draft is concerned, what could wrong, does go wrong. Although maybe they threw us a bone when blade on Hughes skate came off.

Good

Hughes - has gone to a whole new level over the last part of the year. got to be atop 10 player in the League right now. Has the puck and keeps it as long as he wants or needs to. One way you know this is your desire to get him off the ice when you think the team might squeeze out a loss.

Miller - beginning to look a little banged up but still another excellent game. Love how he was pissed off at Boeser when Boeser made a useless shot on the PP when other options were open

Petteresson - beginning to look as good with Kuzmenko as Naslund did with Bertuzzi. Just magic at times.

Kuzmenko - has me watching KHL stats and highlights trying to see if there is any possibility we can find another gem in Russia. Game was featured by his offensive smarts. I think he is making Pettersson a better player

Burroughs - continues to show more and more range in his play. Getting to be a must re-sign. I'd say, right now, Burroughs >>
