This is the type of game they simply have to win if they’re a Playoff team, and if this is really a new version of the Canucks.

This is a game we should win - a non-playoff team coming in on the 2nd night of a B2B after playing in Calgary tonight. 1st game back after a road trip is always a bit of a banana peel, but you've gotta keep winning games like this and building momentum and building a bit of a points cushion while other teams in the division are shitting the bed.

Classic trap game. Team coming in on B2B against the Canucks? Insert all skaters as Wayne Gretzky pic

Should be a good game. Will be going to this one!

I have Binnington as the starter but since the Blues are playing today, there's a good chance we get Hofer instead.

We went 1-5-1 last year in the first game at home after a road trip of 3+ games, and 3 of those games were blowouts (5-0 Buffalo, 5-1 Washington, 6-1 Detroit). Need to clean that up.

3 of the next 4 games are against non-playoff teams (St. Louis, Nashville, SJ) and if they can go 3-1 in those games to start the season 7-3, we've put ourselves in a really good position.

That's the big thing. Win the majority of games against non-playoff teams, split with the other playoff teams, and win a few against the elite. Doesn't really matter how well against the other two you do if you can't also get the "easy" points".

Hopefully a win here..I still have guarded optimism for the Canucks..It was on the first homestead after the road trip the past few years where the wheels started falling off...They either couldn't score, or couldn't hold a lead.

On the positive side, I thought that the Canucks were fairly dominant in the Nashville game..Lets hope they keep it rolling.
