#2- Kyle Turris (28 y/o) + 2019 1st round pick (#4 OA) + Shane Bowers + 2019 3rd round pick (#63 OA) for Matt Duchene (27 y/o)
#3- Mark Stone (26 y/o) for Erik Brannstrom + 2020 2nd round pick (#61 OA Egor Sokolov)

#7-
#8-
#9-
#10-

Of course all of this is with the benefit of hindsight, we are starting to look at the end results of these moves

Some personal notes and options to add later

- Johnny Oduya (35 y/o) contract : 1 year x 2.25 (played way too much for where he was at, it was his last year in the NHL)
- Craig Anderson (37 y/o) extension : 2 years x 4.75 (that seemed very high for a goalie who was aging/declining)
- Anders Nilsson (29 y/o) extension : 2 years x 2.6 (too much too fast once again)
- Ron Hainsey (38 y/o) : 1 year x 3.5 (3rd in TOI/GP for D-men, best he could get I suppose)
- Evgeni Dadonov (27 y/o) contract : 3 years x 5.0 (vast majority liked that signing but he didn't fit in Ottawa. Dorion made a nice trade to get out of the contract thought, getting 1 year of Holden and a 3rd round pick)
- Michael Del Zotto (31 y/o) contract : 2 years x 2.0 (doesn't seem like it was a good idea, hindsight or not)
- Alex Chiasson for Patrick Sieloff
- Evgeni Dadonov contract (same timing as Bobby Ryan buyout)
- Hiring Guy Boucher and staff
- Hiring DJ Smith and staff

DeMelo for me. We have an estblished #4 guy who quietly does everything asked of him on a crap roster and don't extend him, instead move him for a useless pick. Right now he'd be our 4th best defender.

DeMelo for me. At least with Duclair we had someone else in mind and “replaced” him. DeMelo spoke on W&M how much he loved Ottawa and wanted to stay, he would have been the perfect stop gap as the kids got ready.

Condon and Smith contacts were bad. White I don’t mind, I can understand why it happened despite him not living up to it.

Most of the other stuff is pretty inconsequential. Like I don’t care too much that we acquired J Brown or Gudbranson, they are serviceable 6-7 dmen on a team with more structure and depth. The mistake is that we play them higher up the line-up. Logan Brown move is fine with me as well, those are risks that are well worth it if you hit and not too detrimental if you miss.

I don't think DeMelo is a big loss.

Good 3rd pairing defender but I didn't like the idea of both him and Zaitsev signed for several years blocking the young guys when neither should be playing top 4 on a contending team.

Unless he was willing to sign a 2 year deal (unlikely given the 4YR deal he got from WPG), I think trading him made sense.

Josh Brown is bad because we actually gave up an asset for a guy who is NOT NHL level. Not only that, we PLAY him and he has a negative impact on the ice. He contributes to us being a lottery team, and we paid for that

Gudbranson trade was bad because we gave an asset for a guy that was not worth his AAV, which made him a cap dump on the NHL market, a bit like Stepan should have been at 6.5 AAV
