Of course all of this is with the benefit of hindsight, we are starting to look at the end results of these moves

Some moves to add later

- Tyler Ennis contract (2019-20 $800k; 31pts in 61gp) then traded for a 5th

- Victor Mete (22 y/o) claimed on waivers
- 5th round pick for Mike Reilly then traded for a 3rd round pick
- 4th round pick round pick for Austin Watson
- 4th round pick for Namestnikov then flipped for a 4th round pick
- Phaneuf + Thompson for Gaborik (contract dump)
- Hiring Boucher coaching staff

- Brady Tkachuk extension (7 years x 8.2) : was it a good move?
- Artem Zub extension (2 years x 2.5) : was it a good move?
- Zack Smith (31 y/o) for Artem Anisimov (31 y/o) : was it a good move?
- Logan Brown + 4th round pick for Zach Sanford : was it a good move?
- 5th round pick for Mike Condon : was it a good move? he was on waivers like the week before and we ended up overpaying him

Let me know if you have any suggestions!

A this point its Dzinger for me, Dorion got a decent return considering his value at the time and even better in hindsight. Right after it'd be Pageau

Dang, a 8x8 fair value contract for a top-defenseman is a top-5 move our GM has done in 6 years period...

If your GM doesn't bat over 0.500, your team might be in trouble. And comparing the 2 lists... it's easy to see

You're including lots on small moves on the other list but not including small moves here. For example:

Condon for a 5th (he saved our season while Anderson was on leave, without this trade we don't go on a playoff run in 2017)
Sanford for Logan Brown
Tyler Ennis contract (2019-20 $800k; 31pts in 61gp) then traded for a 5th
Dzingel for Paquette + Galchenyuk
4th for Namestnikov, played well for us, then flipped for a 4th
Phaneuf + Thompson for Gaborik, essentially getting rid of 75% of Phaneuf's salary for nothing
7th for Gudbranson
7th for Coburn
Nilsson + Archibald for a 6th + Pyatt and McKenna (Nilsson was great for us until he got hurt)
Hiring Boucher and staff should be on this list, not the other list. He almost brought us to the SCF.

Sanford isn't worth the 4th we traded for him, and holding onto Brown until his value was zero was not smart.

Dorion spent 6.25M to downgrade picks by acquiring and then trading Namestnikov and Gudbranson.

Ennis, Dzingel, Coburn and Nilsson trades are not even worth mentioning they were so inconsequential.

If those moves are inconsequential, then we also need to purge all the inconsequential moves from the list in the other thread

Spent to get good use out of these players. They added depth to the team while costing us almost nothing asset-wise. Not to mention that 6.25m figue is completely inaccurate once you pro-rate the contract for the time they actually spent here.

The Duclair Dzingel deal is clearly the choice but does it even count? They let Duclair walk and gave 37th oa away for Stepan. lol.

After this one the only true net positive move is the deal with Tampa. The rest don't qualify as a 'best move'.

If we get to negate good moves that were followed up by bad moves, does that mean we get to negate bad moves that were followed up by good moves?

Ok. I'll add a few of these but some like a 7th for Gudbranson/Coburn are neither a good/bad, very small deadline deals. If we end up with a Dzingel with that pick (like it happened with the Kovalev trade to Pittsburgh) then it would become noteworthy

I initially didn't do all the work, I might have missed some bad moves too, I was actually hoping to get a bit of help. That's why the OP says "Let me know if you have any suggestions!"

If we get to negate good moves that were followed up by bad moves, does that mean we get to negate bad moves that were followed up by good moves?

Like the Dadonov signing then saved by the Dadonov trade? Sure. But as of now, that signing isn't among the "bad moves" options

Is there any other though?

Either way it won't work out in his favor. Should have been fired long ago. Worst GM in hockey.
