I wasn't really sure what to do with the Stars initially, but looking back things turned out pretty well. We went through a rebuild/retool, creating a stacked prospect pool with loads of picks, but at the same time maintained a solid team that should be able to compete for the playoffs. We have a good balance of veterans and young players, solid goaltending and great depth up front. Combined with the number of picks we have acquired in addition to our elite prospect pool, the Stars should have a bright future.

Umm... that seems a bit severe.
3rr wasn’t enough though, worth an experiment, plus it’s not like anyone is forced to draft these guys top 2. If you prefer a Drai/Barkov/Matthews/Crosby + late 2nd rounder over just McD/Mack then you should definitely take those guys, that’s what makes it fun. You have to weigh that all in and at some it becomes worth it to draft them over whoever is left on the board.

Plus let’s be real, you can get away with a McD + a couple of 3rd liners and still have a legit top line.

This was all @AveryStar4Eva's master plan

I didn't wanna get rid of Mack/McD completely, so instead I'm gonna force you to GM like Ken Holland instead of Joe Sakic

Hey guys; so sorry for being absent for Calgary... got my second Pfizer dose earlier this week, and it knocked me completely on my ass. Basically been lying in bed most of the week, including yesterday, and feel like a jerk for not being there.

My team:

Screenshot_20210701-212027_Samsung Internet.jpg

And key prospects not on there:
F: Mason McTavish, Chaz Lucius, Brett Harrison, Dawson Mercer, Lukas Reichel, Mackenzie Entwistle, Maxim Shalunov

D: Braden Schneider, Carson Lambos, Matthew Roberston, Nicolas Beaudin

G: Drew Commesso, Nico Daws

Lots of wheeling and dealing went on but that looks a very different team and still has cap space. Younger and deeper on the roster and a prospect pool with several shots at top players. The aim was to be transitioning but competitive for the next 2 seasons and by then hopefully having a team for the next 5 years. All the big contracts for older players are 2 years (bar Kassian at 3) and DeBrincat will need a new deal then so plenty of money available.

Lots of very promising C prospects so even if some turn into wingers, that's absolutely fine. Too many LHD prospects but at some stage there would be opportunities for RHD to add to Schneider and two good goalie prospects.

Disagree but it’s fine. Sharks core is a god damn disaster. I moved Kane who is said to be a locker room problem, Couture who has been garbage and is old, Hertl who has one year left, Timo and Labanc who have been bad except for one season where the whole team was good, and Burns who is old. Also Labanc is a damn liability.

Yeah I really like what I built with them. Not too many aging stars in key positions. Lots of younger players.

In real life that’s what I assume happens but this ain’t real life. Also saying I had the better position, have you seen the Sharks prospects?
You had more valuable assets to dispose of for futures than Columbus.
