Just on first glance, but Peverley signed a contract extension a while ago in real life. Nielsen just signed one as well, although I'm not sure if it was before we started this game.

The Vancouver Canucks are very pleased to announce they have come to terms with defenseman Ryan Suter on a 13 year contract worth $92M with a full NMC for the first 10 seasons.

"When the opportunity to add a player such as Ryan Suter presented itself, we jumped on it. Ryan is one of the premier defensemen in this league and to add him to our core group through his prime years is nothing short of exciting."

The Anaheim Ducks are proud to welcome back former Duck Dustin Penner to the team. Dustin has signed a contract for two years that will pay him $1.25 million the first year, and $1.5 million the next.

Penner, who found most of his success here in Anaheim, will be starting the season on the top line with former linemates Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, in an effort to light a spark in all of them. This move will see Patrick Kane move to the second line to play alongside Teemu Selanne.

Montreal adds much needed toughness

2848798.jpg

Montreal Canadiens and defenceman Matt Carkner have agreed to a 2 year contract worth a total of 2mil$.

''We love Matt's toughness that he brings to the back end. Our lack of toughness is well documented and we wanted to address the issue, Matt is a big step in that direction and we are happy to have him.''

:devils add Parenteau

pa-parenteau.jpg_standalone.jpg

The Devils are extremely excited to add PA Parenteau to a 4 year contract worth $14M (3.5M per). We believe his playmaking will complement his new linemates Ilya Kovalchuk and Adam Henrique beautifully and will make it a very dangerous line for years to come. He is currently 5 in the NHL in assists playing with mid tier linemates, and by putting him with some elite talent, those numbers will increase.

Tuuka time in TO

The Bruins loss is the Maple Leafs gain

After failing to qualify their Restricted Free Agents, the Toronto Maple Leafs have swooped in and signed newly UFA goaltender Tuuka Rask from the Bruins. The former Leafs draft pick has agreed to a 4 year deal worth $18 million to become the Leafs new starting goaltender.

Grabovski Signs With Anaheim
Toronto+Maple+Leafs+v+Ottawa+Senators+ZQAatviS0Vdl.jpg

The Anaheim Ducks have found themselves a second line center. Mikhail Grabovski has signed with the team for 4 years at $18 million dollars. Grabovski, who will be paid $4.5 million a season, will be placed between Patrick Kane and Teemu Selanne on a very formidable second line for the Ducks.
