Avs bring back Galliardi; sign Belanger

COLORADO AVALANCHE​

Colorado completed its off-season moves by bringing back forward TJ Galliardi and signing veteran Center Eric Belanger.

Galliardi, who was dealt to Phoenix at the deadline for Lauri Korpikoski, agreed to a 3-year deal worth $2.9M per year. He was an unrestricted free agent after Phoenix failed to qualify him. TJ is expected to join the Avs top-six.

Belanger signed on for 2 years at $2M per year, and will anchor the 3rd line winged by former teammate Korpikoski, and Korpi's former linemate in Phoenix Dan Winnick.

Calgary made three signings this morning, inking Josh Harding to a 2year deal worth $1.5M a season.
"Josh is a good young goalie whose price was down do to injury. But we feel we got a bargain with now two #1-capable Goalies for only three and a half million. This money will be used elsewhere to strengthen the core"

The Flames also inked P.A Parenteau to a $550,000 deal as a 4th-line C, and Goalie Josh Tjordman to an AHL contract, either splitting time with Leland Irving and fellow-Wildcat Nic Riopel in Abbotsford, as well as providing veteran leadership in Utah.

The Nashville predators continue to bolster their club by signing Jan Hedja to a 3 year deal worth 4.8 per. Nashville has also signed Alex Kovelev to a 1 year deal worth 2 million

Nashville is extremly happy to add Lidstrom, Hedja and Kovelev. Our team need to needed the help on our back end and Lidstrom and Hedja are perfect guys to lead our young defensive clue chippers like Franson and Ellis.

After missing out on several big name Free agents we added Alex Kovelev. We decided depth was needed in order to have 3 scoring lines which we feel will make this team better. Kovelev will be on the third line with Dumont and Wilson or Legwand and we hope that line can compliment our top 2 units and put up some good numbers. If Kovelev decides he wants to take 1 more year off, Ward, S Kos, Smithson, Spalding are all ready for top 9 minutes

We have a couple more offers out but very well could be done

The Fames continued to add, picking up two D-men in Bryan McCabe and Jonathan Ericsson to 2-year contracts worth 2.5M and 1.5M respectively

"Ericsson is still a little raw, but growing into his game, and coming from an organization like Detroit he knows what success is like. McCabe is a solid vet that will strengthen our top 4 and mentor the younger D coming up like Ericsson, Cole, Erixon, and Beaukeboom"

FLAMES LAND THE BIG GUN OF FA

In a move other GMs will likely jeer, the Flames have landed superstar Alex Semin to a 10 year $100Million dollar contract, making him the highest-paid player in the league along with Brad Richards.

"Ok, i'll admit we overpaid" GM T_Cage said in a press conference "But how often do you get to land a sniper with 50-goal potential like Alex Semin...without having to trade a single roster player. It was either gut our prospect pool for a star, or hand over the money when an elite-level player wants to come to Calgary."

Calgary is now, as team sources put it "VERY close" to the cap, so another move or two may be in the offing, but this is definately the highwater of our offseason.
