Still only one reasonable offer for Richards. I want a top pairing defenseman, but willing to negotiate.

1st and 2nd round picks, all prospects, Ott, Daley, Niskanen, Skrastins, and Woywitka are also available. As well as my bottom 6 scrubs (not Wandell & Burish).

The Los Angeles Kings might need to go on a cap clearing extravaganza depending on some deals they have lined up. Potential pieces available include Willie Mitchell, Rob Scuderi, Justin Williams, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Jarret Stoll, Kevin McGrath.

Looking mostly for picks and prospects in these deals

Michael Roszival can be had fairly cheaply

Chris Drury can be had for a bag of pucks, willing to paying for airfare to trade destination as well

Alex Frolov can be had as well, and so can Ruslan Fedotenko

That's the update from Rangers camp.

Tomas Vokoun has waived his NTC, and the trade has been sent in. I will let the acquiring GM post the deal.

Preds acquire Roy, Adam

derek-roy-again_display_image.jpg

The Nashville Predators announced today that the club has acquired forwards Derek Roy and Luke Adam from the Buffalo Sabres in return for Ryan Suter.

"It was very tough to trade Ryan" GM KTSF19 said in a press release. "We thought about it for a while, but we felt in the end that this move would better our hockey club. We added a player who has put up a point-per-game on a weak team this season, and another forward who has put up excellent numbers thus far in the AHL. Luke is a very promising prospect, and we believe that with the proper development time, he can bloom into a top-six forward for us."

The Lightning also added versatile veteran forward Brendan Morrison to the team. Bolts gm Barbadian91 had this to say: "Did we over pay? Yes we did but for the first time since we won the cup we have a true number one goaltender, just this time he's top 5 in the league. It does hurt alot to loose all that propspect depth in the organization but we feel we made our club contenders for the cup. We are also very sad to see smith and Maloan go. It's hard to see such class players leave the organization, but we wish them best in there new home."

:devils: have waived veteran Brian Rolston

While he is still a capable NHLer we can simple not afford his services with the big raise due to Parise. If someone wants to pick him up at his pro - rated salary he will only cost you about 1.125 million for the rest of the season and will contrubite to any team in need of secondary scoring for the playoffs

Avalanche willing to take on salary dumps to acquire picks/prospects.

We've also got shutdown defensemen Scott Hannan and puckmoving defenseman John-Michael Liles up on the block. Both are top-4 defenders with playoff experience, Liles has been stellar this season, while Hannan is one of the most reliable defenders in the league.

We're still looking for a right handed center.

Isn't there a 35+ rule that prohibits players 35+ from being waived?

Confirm. Tomas Vokoun is undeniably a franchise goalie, but in Jacob Markstrom we have a player that needs playing time and has the potential to be every bit as good as Vokoun. At Vokoun's age he deserves to be a on a playoff team, and unfortunately we will just be exiting our re-build as he comes to retirement. This trade is best for both team and player.

Coyle and Doherty are top quality prospects who will make a big impact soon, and join an excellent core. Coyle projects as a high-end top 6 center, while Doherty could be anywhere from Hal Gill to Tyler Myers, he is a gamble but at 6'8 and a phenomenal skater, he is a worthwhile one. Luckily he has shown to be at his best with fellow Panthers prospect Erik Gunbranson. Furthermore, we believe this is a very deep draft and San Jose's pick could easily net us a future top 6 forward.

:panthers will continue to actively shop Bryan McCabe, while Reasoner, Bernier, Allen, and even Wideman could potentially be moved.

Will likely not make any deadline moves. Want to see how the team does in the playoffs, then spend like hell in the offseason, because we'll have a fair bit to spend.

No such thing (at least under the current cba).....so I am going to guess no.

I, NYsportsfan, would like to invent the concept of an amnesty buyout in this game. I will take sole credit for said idea, and would like to recieve all proceeds from said idea.

Thanks.

Flames begin the rebuild; deal Kipprusoff, Morrison to Lightning

The Calgary Flames began their rebuild under the regime of new GM TribalPhoenix, dealing franchise goaltender Miika Kipprusoff and centre Brendan Morrison to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In exchange for the pair, the Flames received winger Ryan Malone, goaltender Mike Smith, as well as prospects Brett Connolly, Richard Panik, and Ty Wishart. The Flames also receive Tampa Bay's 1st round selection in this years draft.

"Miika Kiprusoff will go down in history as one of the greatest goaltenders to ever put on a Calgary Flame uniform. Dealing him was a very difficult decision, however we believe that as part of a philosophical shift is taking place and a rebuild is our direction, some of our veteran players deserve the chance to go to a team where they can compete right now." Flames GM TribalPhoenix stated in a press conference this afternoon.

"In dealing Kipper, we have received pieces that can help us right now, but also give us established and solid talent going forward. Ryan Malone is a solid top 6 forward who can provide good leadership to our club now and in the future. Mike Smith is a legitimate goaltender in this league, and will have the chance to prove he is still a bona fide number one. In Brett Connolly, we receive a blue chip, top tier prospect who is going to be a huge part of our strategy going forward. Richard Panik has excellent offensive abilities, and projects into a top six forward when he breaks into this league. Ty Wishart is a monster of a defenceman, and has all the tools to become a very solid top 4 defender for our club."

"We would like to thank Miika for his contributions to our club, and wish him and Brendan the best of luck in Tampa Bay. We hope we see them hoisting a Cup over their heads."
