Not the strongest Belarussian team talent-wise, but there are a few big guys on this team. I expect a great tournament from Grabovski. He'll likely be expected to lead this team.

it's 100% that he joins the team

heikkila said that aleksei will join the team in finland just before the start of wc
he decided to give him some rest after tough and long post-season with his khl club while belarus national team will be playing in slovakia next two days

Has Raman Hrabarenka been cut from the camp?

not yet
he even played today against germany in the first pairing with vladimir denisov
heikkila is giving him a chance, but he and others like gotovets, kaznadey, andrei antonov and some young forwards like drozd or pavlovich are on the bubble and those people finally can be cut from the team

by the way, tough loss 2-5 today, and our fans are not-little shocked. our goal at the wc is to get to the quaters which is announced by hockey federation so scepsis is starting to grow around here

like heikkila said before he tried to go today with ugarov - grabovski (pp goal today) - andrei stepanov as the team's first line which is projected 1st line for the tourney

other lines were

drozd (pp assist) - stas - meleshko (pp assist)
kulakov - kitarov - mikhalev
andrei kolosov (1 goal) - kovyrshin - koltsov (1 assist)

d
graborenko - denisov
korobov - gotovets (1 assist)
chernook - stasenko
kaznadey - antonov

and mezin (27\32) between the pipes

tomorrow against norway there certainly will be some changes

there is possibility that not only kalyuzhny (who will be there 100%) but also artem demkov from elmira jackals of the ECHL joins the team

today against norway there were minimum changes

koval in the net
and instead of gotovets and antonov - pair of kostyuchenok-goroshko which is gonna look like this at WC
so it's a 4-0 win
koval got a shutout (25\25)

goals
ugarov (grabovski) - 39.57
kulakov (chernook, andrei kolosov) - 43.11
meleshko - 51.17
stas - 57.34 - en

Who are the goalies for team Belarus, could you give a depth list of say 5-6 goalies?. Koval is probably number, who are the next in the food chain?

koval
mezin (though it's not clear whether mezin or koval will be number 1 at wc)

milchakov (going in finland as #3 goalie)

brikun
grishukevich (maybe little too old, it looks like he'll never be given a chance - he is small stature, though he looks good at belarus league level)
malyutin
shabanov (still good at belarus league level, but he is done for nt)

+good youngsters in shelepnyov and borodulya (with shelepnyov being right behind milchakov, i suppose, he had already been invited to the national camp and signed with dinamo)

According to Elite Prospects Sergei Kolosov would be in the team but he has not been in the camp. What is his situation? I also wonder why Mikhail Stefanovich is not in the team. He just wasn't selected? Apparently he was in the camp for a period replacing Koltsov who was little hurt.

edit: Or is Sergei Kolosov just messed with Andrei Kolosov at Elite Prospects?

Or is Sergei Kolosov just messed with Andrei Kolosov at Elite Prospects? - you are right
it is andrei kolosov from gomel who is in the camp and maybe he will make the final cut and play at wc
sergei kolosov playing decent game in belarus league' for now-powerhouse neman (grodno) and that's it, nothing special. it looks like those years in ahl have hurt him a little, but we'll see. he's good in belarus league, but one time we all hoped that he'll make it as a 5-6 d-man in nhl

stefanovich just not using his potential fully, he's still soft and horrible defensively and not so much progressing offensively. he couldn't show anything at the khl level. he is good for top-6 role in belarusian league, but we have better guys there in national team
but there is still some hope that one day he will live up to our expectations of being him a first line scorer

Teams can register up to 25 players (22 skaters and 3 goalkeepers) for the tournament of which 20+2 can be on the game roster. Teams have to register a minimum of 15+2 players on 3rd May and can add players until two hours before each game throughout the tournament until the roster is full.

so, i think there will be additional two spots as always before the elimination round
i think heikkila will start with standard 20+3-set and will see how it goes, maybe kostitsyns maybe someone else would be added

edit: oh, it looks like there are some changes in player registration, this ability to add before each game, i can't remember if this was earlier, though it makes all even more simple
we'll see at 3rd may whether heikkila hopes to see brothers or not :D

if you have read this thread you didn't ask that :D:D:D
yes, he is
posted 2 assists in 2 exhibition games playing in the first line
actually, he is supposed to be the leader of the team

I like Grabovski very much as a player but as a person as well. In one of his interview he said that he is never too "tired" to play for his country and that will always join Belarus when it is possible. That is atitude.

And he is almost ppg player at Elite division, in 37 games has 33 points.
