How has Vaak been?

I was looking at his stats. In his four shortened seasons in providence he has had decent numbers

82 Game Average. 8 goals, 28pts, +17

Could he maybe take over Zboril spot that he was playing before he got injured?

Also has he played the right side at all?

A third pair of Gryz-Vaak could be decent way to break him into the line up.

Not too many many people are as high on him as you.

Vaakanainen has been more noticeable of late, his assist from yesterday's game shows he still has elite vision and skill, his shot is still good (not great but wish he'd shoot more) he's improved in avoiding getting killed behind his net and is showing more compete
Now that said he's done this before, at times in the past he's been the best D on the ice for weeks at a time only to regress, it's maddening
Of all our prospect's that have either plateaued or fizzled he's the one I'd worry about getting "it" with another organization

Divver was just on 98.5 Hockey Show, talked about Senyshyn Studnicka Ahcan Vaakanainen and Steen, worth the effort to find it

Happy Birthday (23)Vaakanainen

Mark Divver supported what Eric says

Only 23 ????

he was fantastic in WJC and turned me from despair passing on Thomas & Vesalainen to the point I thought he was a top 4 screw the top 6

hope these two who watch Providence are right and he keeps trending up

Divver interview is well worth listening to - he’s one of the handful of best hockey writers:judge of talent in North America let alone this area

he discussed Senyshyn, Studnicka, Steen, Ahcan as well

Curious what his take was on the 4? Quick thoughts?

Senyshyn opinion same as me, Eric, Leach, my buddy who is on Providence staff and apparently Sweeney who signed him to contract

excellent skater forechecker better then many bottom 6 around NHL- frustration warranted

I’m dropping this on Cassidy based on observation playing in January- February 2020

Cassidy very tightly wound and impatient and although brilliant hockey mind I don’t think he is a developer- he took Providence job to get an NHL coach

agreed with Cassidy Public assessment on Studnicka his play uneven and nowhere near it was 2019-20. I’ll add speaking for self not Studnicka my understanding is he can’t stand Cassidy and Is broken - opinion told to me by someone more familiar

Steen - belongs in NHL now but bottom 6. Buzzes around and gets guys chasing him - Providence best player easily

Ahcan/- very skilled but short. Sheppy would not approve. Someone told me Sheppy is 5’6? Is this true ?

I wish the bruins would give ZS a legit chance
What has Senyshyn done to prove he should be recalled before Steen or Froden?

Even The Mayor has proven to be able to take regular shifts in the NHL. Super crappy shifts, but I bet Bruce would be psyched.

This isn't like the past few seasons, where Senyshyn had no competition for a RW callup.
