OT: GDT Template

I would like to get some ideas started for the game day threads. I figure we can use this thread to post a template or any ideas that people can copy and paste in order to ensure that we have nice GDTs to start the season.

Any themes, designs, or motto to be used can be shared here.

I also want to give a big shout-out to Flames CBA guy for all his hard work over the past few seasons in creating some really good GDTs. Stewie made a lot of threads last year too. And thanks to everyone else who made some threads and helped out.

I think the unwritten rule is that if a GDT is not created by game time, somebody (anybody) start one up, even if its not pretty. Nobody should criticizes a last-minute GDT. That's not cool, you could've created one yourself.

Oh, and a very simple GDT template would be great for those using smart phones. An easy copy + paste with small edits would be ideal.

I'll try to make up a GDT that matches the avatar theme, if that goes forward. Last year's was really great because there was a lot of Simpson videos and quotes.

Ultimately any GDTs don't have to match the avatar themes. But having some templates posted will be good.

I actually quite like the idea of a 2004 lineup for when Iginla returns to Calgary in December for a GDT. I also like the Top Gun idea, but that's because that is probably one of my favourite movies (even with that awkward volleyball scene).

Edit: Thanks for the shoutout, MarkGio! I wouldn't have been doing the GDT's the last two seasons if I didn't have the approval of you guys, so I appreciate that you guys enjoy them - whether or not it is a ****** theme.

I recommend using Google Image Search and use the first logo result for the opposing team logo URL - it should be an image from Wikipedia.
Requires a bit more work to edit and fill in the holes but this is just one template of many others you can use.
If you start the GDT it's your responsibility to keep it tidy and informative - updated lines and whatnot!

Now anyone can simply copy & paste that and we'll have a legit GDT regardless if its last-minute or not.


I forgot to mention that the simple GDT that I created was so a thread can be created from a smartphone, only requiring an edit to the lines.

Yeah last season's Simpsons themes were fun, especially when we named a team after a Simpsons city.

Instead of a new theme every month, I always though we should keep the same theme going as long as there's a good streak of wins and to change it when things turn sour. Gotta keep the mojo goin'!
