Gay Players in the NHL

If you are asking if there are any openly gay players, I don't think so.

I may be naive, but I think of all the major sports, and I'll include soccer (futbol) I think the NHL is the one that would be the most tolerant of a gay teammate.

I really hope I am not being naive.

According to google 3.8% of American’s are gay.

22 players per team times 31 teams equals 694 NHLers. This number is not including any players who get called up throughout the season.

According to math of percentages approximately 24 players are gay. Almost one per team.

Does it matter?
If someone would be gay and play the sport, are they instantly better because they're gay and was the 1st to openly admit it?

We aren't intolerant to the topics. We're aware that threads like this never end well, and until a player actually comes out it's all just speculation.

The answer is most likely yes, there are very likely gay players in the NHL.
