Ok, this may seem like a weird question, but if you had the choice to get either Gavin Brindley or the #23 pick in the 2024 draft, which would you pick and why?

I'd start to think about it around pick 7-10. Brindley is a mature all-situations type of player who is ready to go right now, it'd be really tough to pass on that for a pick that is probably years away.

Based on my 23rd ranked prospect being Beckett Sennecke, I'd go with Sennecke. It's not that far but I'd rather have the 23rd pick and take him if he's there vs Brindley. It's close though. I'd take him 25-32 if he was an undrafted D+1 possibly.

Some of you would make awful GMs. This is a guy that is a clear top 15 from his draft, a more known commodity, and you'd take the risk of 23rd pick over that?

Sure you could find another guy with those traits, but why take the risk when you already know what you have in him. Especially when you consider his best friend was taken in the first round and you already know they have instant chemistry.

No disrespect, but you are asking me if I would take $100 or $10. Brindley is an easy choice. I’d take Brindley probably 8-10th overall in last year’s draft if we did a redraft and I already had him ranked 14.

This draft is much worse on paper. In this years draft, I’d probably take him at 5-6. This might eventually seem like a bad take. But if I was a GM, I absolutely need this guy on my team.

I think this year's draft is deeper, but Brindley would go top 15 in a redraft... I'd say Brindley unless someone falls. For example, if a guy like Connolly slips to 23rd, the choice isn't that easy.

There are about more obvious 12-15 better players on this draft, may be some who will be available after will be better but its questionable, because Brindley already proved himself at least on some level. So I would prefer Brindley over 16 pick, and I would think about it when I would see who is still available for 13-15 pick.
