They were saying that guys were auditioning for jobs on this last road trip since we're out of the playoffs. Better get good at filling out unemployment forms.

Can't wait to see Chipchura and Tikhonov out on Price Road panhandling for money to feed their babies.

I thought the game was fantastic. We may have given up 6 goals tonight, 5 goals last night, and our stagnant defense has been making the same mistakes over and over again, for 5 years now, but rookies got MINUTES tonight.

That's PROGRESS. There's literally nothing more we could ask for.

Maybe DT has finally realized that the playoffs are out of reach :sarcasm:

Our defensemen have a handy habit of regressing under Jim Playfair.

How many NHL teams have you coached? It's not his fault. The budget prevented him from developing our defensemen and the experts picked us to be last, so he's meeting expectations. You don't fire the coach when he's meeting expectations, and he's playing rookies. What more do you want?

Exactly. What more could you expect? Don't you know what a rebuild is? It's the first year of the rebuild. Noone gives any effort or ****s in a rebuild. You can hardly blame the coaching for the lack of effort. Duclair got 12 whole minutes of icetime. That's almost as much as Gordon, Tikh, and Sekac. Seven whole minutes of even strength time. That's more than Dauphin and the ejected Vermette (and noone else). If we played the kids more often, we'd lose 9-6 instead of 6-2.
We're making good progress. We actually played some rookies, and we're not throwing in the towel. Anyone can see THAT. If we didn't play these veterans more, we'd be the Oilers. Do you want to pick first overall?! Do you?!

So it's like training camp? Should scratch Doan, OEL, Domi, Duke, Rieder, and anyone else who's a lock to be on the team next year. Bring up all the prospects.

The team sucked it up and crushed the capitals in their last home game, played hard when it didn't matter, won 3-0 against the best team in the NHL, happy for that effort. Expecting a 100% effort and a victory going into St Louis and Chicago, when the season is over, is asking a bit much, don't you think? Blaming the coach for the loss/effort is even more ridiculous at this point in the season. The only way we beat Nashville/San Jose is if those games do not matter to them. This is how it works at this time of the year:)
