I feel like it’s not that we don’t have possession players...we constantly have dumb **** coaches who like the dump it in approach.
That is also entirely possible.
Either way, when I watch Tampa - it pops out that they have a shitload of possession players. They don't like to give the puck to the other team.
Us: pull our goalie - dump the puck in to the other team. And we don't have big enough/persistent enough forwards to retrieve those dumped in pucks. So we probably shouldn't do that as much. It rarely works out well.
It's useless to go off about coaching, but how they think this approach will ever work...really boggles the mind..
