You have it right. It's a top 10 protected 2024 1st round draft pick. If it's top 10, the pick will become an unprotected 2025 1st round pick. I believe the Pens have the option to waive that if they want (not sure on that fact).Did I have it right? It's top 10 protected? So we're rooting for Pittsburgh to lose out right and then get the pick next year?
If you think the Pens are going to bottom out next season, you want the pick to go to 2025.
Either way, the Sharks have an opportunity to grab a good asset with the pick this year or next.
