They are just waiting for the Leafs to make mistakes for a counter attack. They are gaining the zone, passing it back to their D and hoping they can find a play/shot. Leafs have done well to win board battles to not allow curls from the corners, or setups in the crease which is their bread and butter. They've also blocked/stopped shots quite a bit.

Problem is that the Leafs are playing more or less the same, but have been able to get decent shots through.
The one thing that is noticable though is every Bruin knows where every other Bruin is and they almost always know what the person with the puck is going to do. Even when you think the puck is going nowhere, a Bruin is right on the puck. Meanwhile the Leafs look like they're just randomly throwing the puck around. This team has a terrible coach.

Probably should've waited until the offseason to give him his 11.
5 mill...nobody else would've given him more than that. What was the rush.
He's making 6.9 (nice) now. He just had a 98pt season finishing top 10 in pts. Career high in every category but yeah he's going to take 5mil and no one else would go higher. See my avatar.

Good news. Woll only had to make 1 save.

Bad news: Leafs had 12 shots, of which maybe 2-3 were dangerous. But I'm sure "advanced" and "expected" stats say the period was way more skewed towards the Leafs than it was. Fact is, although the hitting and physicality was nice, we're playing right into the Bruins low chance style of game again.

That's probably fair yeah. Leafs do lack structure offensively right now because Swayman is in there heads a bit whre they'd rather it pass it than shoot. But they finished 2nd in scoring in the league for a reason and it wasn't just because of Matthews. It's a tight checking game and Swayman hasn't let in a single bad goal.

Agreed. The number or real chances was much smaller and the number of "hits" in the NHL is always drastically inflated right now.

That said the Leafs played a pretty solid period but as usual they need to focus on getting the puck to the net and crashing it.

Need to get a greasy goal here, need to find a way to break through, the longer boston hangs around, the better for them.

... what? Is this sarcasm?
Mo has been been fine. I expect more but he's been decent.

Some people just really don't like him for whatever reason but he's the best puck mover we have and a very good number 2.

That's not on Mo. That's on Leafs not having a good enough Defence for f***ing years.

Who on the Leafs is even a threat to score?

The benefit of this series is it shows us Matthews is everything to this team so everyone else is expendable. The negative is we already rushed to sign Nylander before waiting for this.

He's been great. I dunno what people are watching. Only thing missing is offense but that's the entire team too.

He had one good game….

Mitch Marner has as many goals as him.
