yeah for sure which is why I said the real culprit was how the Rangers "cleared" the zone and acted like they had done their job and relaxed.
Trouba just backs waaaaay too far in even when he has time though
We had too many failed clearing attempts at our blueline, plus way too many picked off passes in the neutral zone. It all screams "lazy".

The funny thing is, we've seen the movie a hundred times before. 5v5 comes up empty and we can't score on the PP. Now we're getting the ultimate collector's 3 disk set with deleted scenes.

We tried to defend to a win in game 3 against Tampa up 2-0 in the series and 2-0 in game 3 and that killed us.
We tried to defend our way to a win in game 3 against NJ and it killed us.

Somehow they have to figure out they have to stop doing that. Zibanejad is a clown who plays well when it's party time but can't dig deep. We need to switch things up. Give more ice time to other guys.

The Rangers had 107 and 110 point teams the last two years. They have shown they can respond in the regular season for three years now. In the playoffs they lack balls and heart. The second things go sour the team collapses. This is a core of losers. Panarin basically embodies every 1990s stereotype there are of Russian players, soft and mentally weak. Mika would rather be a DJ than a hockey player. Shesterkin is always an inch away of turning into Dan Cloutier. Soft, mentally weak, not cut out for playoff hockey. But we'll keep seeing them like the Matthews/Marner gang and every year like Leafs fans delude ourselves into thinking this year will be different. Except NY Jets NHL version every year will choke.

Tampa and the Devils were better teams. The Rangers 2 years ago took it on the chin from Pitt and Carolina, and fought all the way back in both series to win multiple game 7's, and multiple elimination games.

Carolina is a really good team, games 1-3 could have gone to them, playoff hockey is hard, they either step up in the next two games, or there can be extended conversations about turning the vets of the team over.

everyone knew we'd have to get extremely lucky to win the Cup. Here's precisely where we need the luck to happen.

The Ranger at their best are a good all around team. Other than arguably in goal and even with Igor it's iffy because he's a bit of a headcase, they are not the best at any part of the game. They don't have the best offense (PP is great 5 on 5 is mid) and they don't have the best defense (PK is great 5 on 5 is mid again). Why the f*** are they playing like they're the 95 Devils in 2024 up 1-0? You don't play that way with a good not great defense. Or f***, no team should play that way in 2024. It was clearly a concerted effort to ride Igor who was having a great game...until he wasn't. That looked very much like the strategy. They didn't even try to expand the lead. Just break up a pass in the D zone and dump it in. What f***ing year is this? If the Rangers scored with 10 minutes to go to make it 1-0 and THEN tried to sit on it ok. They had half a f***ing game where their whole strategy was to play defense and dump it.

What makes you say that? This core has embarrassed themselves three seasons in a row. A room full of losers being led by the worst captain of all time that makes Rob Gronkowski look like Albert Einstein.
I don't care about the last two seasons. They were different seasons.

Look at Vegas' playoff resume. Look at Colorado's. Look at Boston's. Look at Tampa's. All Stanley Cup Champions. Everyone embarrasses themselves until one year they don't (or two years in Tampa's case).

Carolina is frankly a better team. 3 points don't mean shit. There's a reason they were a favorite this season. You're not shorthanded goals your way to a series win. The PP is a DISGRACE now. Completely figured out like last year against the Devils. We were legit dog shit 5 on 5. Devils fans were 100% right. A team that's +1 5 on 5 should be an 8 seed at best. And our superpower has disappeared for a second year in a row. Maybe Mika can give the puck away a few more times, only thing they're f***ing good at now.

Someone claimed that teams that are up 3-0 in a series and let it get to 3-2 lose 50% of the time.
That's literally impossible.

23 such series have gone to game 7 and the team that initially went up 3-0 is 19-4 in game 7.

It's hard to lose four in a row.

This is just not true. In 2022 they came back from down 3-1 and 2-0 and won both series. You seem to conveniently forget this fact. That also took alot out of them and were pretty much gassed in the middle of the Tampa series who happened to be the defending champs. Comparing them to the Leafs is pretty stupid since them advancing to the 2nd round has happened only once. The Rangers are 1 win from another conference finals again.

They're trending themselves in the same direction. This team is not good enough to win the cup. They're not good enough to do anything but beat the worst playoff team in like 30 years. You are a SHIT team if you can't muster more than a +1 5 on 5 over an 82 game season.

Colorado is about to go down 3-1 again. They're f***ing useless except the year the won they Cup.

And honestly, they should be in danger of being swept right now.

Being sans Toews because he's either sick or hurt and Nichuskin because he wanted to dance with the old white lady is tough though.

But Colorado is lucky they won game 1. The praise they received after that game was insane though, it's like did you f***ers not notice that they went down 3-0?

And if they win Thursday, they beat probably the best team in the playoffs.

They had an epic run against bum goalies. They legit would have been out in 5 against the Pens if they had an NHL goalie. That series looked like Colorado vs. Winnipeg this year.

It's ok to be disappointed about tonight's loss but can you save this shit until if they actually lose the series?

Just as hard as it is to win 4 in a row.

Carolina could literally hit us with their best effort in franchise history on Thursday and end up losing 4-0 because thats how hockey goes. At that point it wouldn't be a problem with their effort or output in that game and a problem with the fact that they went down 3-0 to begin with.

ugh hate this response from Kreider. How about being angry rather than just shrugging your shoulders and saying we’ve already done a great job by being ahead in the series. Makes me wonder if this is the kind of BS that has been plaguing this team for a decade. No urgency

That's always been the knock on Kreider. No killer instinct. He needs to have his Lawrence Taylor strips Roger Craig moment or else it's just a very good career.

It's crazy that most teams in this scenario forcing game 7 aren't even winning the game 7.

Momentum and a moist napkin wipes your ass.
