Where's he going? They can't trade him
I'm tired of this narrative that NMC's are unbreakable, they're not. That said I agree that it's highly unlikely they'll trade him for any substantial return because his playoff play has made his AAV untenable. The worst case scenario is they let him paly out next year as an own rental and let him walk.

When your team is 1-1 and you're always started to throw player under the bus, can you really expect something else?

leafs playoff success start with fan base whos right now is looking like 1 of worst fan base in the world. Bashing his own team unstead of support them, after people dont understand why home ice becoming an handicap unstead of a tool for leafs and why leafs lost like 12 of last 16 home game?

Did you see any leafs player actually having fun in playoff ? When you're only feeling the pressure with no pleasure on the ice, you've got the result coming with.

Why the F should I give a rats ass about millionaire hockey players “having fun in the playoffs????

You know how Leaf players can have fun in the playoffs? Phucking win games.

Playoffs aren’t “fun”. Show up for work and win. Even then, it isn’t “fun@ until the job is done.

Come on.

They've typically bounced back from bad games to play well. That's one thing we can usually say about the team. Whether playing better translates to winning or even competing, we'll see.

This team just feels like they gave up. The coach looks like he gave up too. No passion or fire... just there. The quotes that they tried and all that stuff is like... ok. Good shit guys.
I really thought Saturday would be the bounce back night, that effort was concerning for sure.
No idea what to really think about tonight.

and you attribute the NFL's success to the ability to cancel contracts?
Partially, yes. Players know that if they don't perform they won't get paid. That's a great motivator. Meanwhile in the NHL once they've signed that motivation is gone.

Our three best players appear to be not at 100%, we are facing elimination, and this is a group not known for their resiliency. It kind of has the makings of a corny TV movie.

Team needs to strap on their McMann Pants and get to work! (god we need players that can forecheck and win puck battles)

matthews nylander marner rielly all look like they are 50-75% at best.

This would be okay if we had a cup already, then we say whatever, bad luck this year, onto next year.

but with no results, this is such depressing way to lose

I just wish they would make passable zone exits and zone entries. Oh god... zone entries. How many times did they enter the offensive zone with the puck and made a play? It's constantly dumping pucks in the corner, which is typically fine sometimes but it's not just the only way to play in the playoffs. And when they finally do enter the zone with the puck, they curl back, pass to the D and only 1 has any ability so it's just futile.

And players should be able to tear up a contract if they outperform it.

Maybe have a tear up the Contract Deadline Day?

Should be right before Trade Deadline Day, so that players could sign new contracts before.

That would make for good viewing.

CDD followed by TDD.

The team owners create the environment and economic system that provides the opportunity for the players, not the other way around.

Often used by many teams, I found that to be one of the most annoying go to comments. We’re just going to go out there and have fun. What a croc!

Lock them out until they agree to it. Simple. Players can go to Europe and play in the Swiss Elite League if they have a problem with it. NHLPA needs to grasp the reality that the NHL is not even a top 3 professional league in North America. They amount of entitlements these spoiled brats have is insane.

They're wholeheartedly committed to never doing dump and chase, it's either perfectly clean unchallenged entry or they just turn it over.

Goalie: Undecided (Hunch says its Woll).

Additional Notes:
Matthews game time decision probably

BRUINS EXPECTED LINE UP

Goalie: (Hunch says they go back with Swayman)

Additional Notes:
Marchand and Heinen were not on practice; maintenance day per Montgomery

Since cheering saying GLG and being a good guy doesn't work. Here is something new that we hope works. EMBRACE THE DARK SIDE

There will be time for "Respect" either in the post game series thread on the mains, or post game threads here on Leafs forum or in the handshake line ;).

But that time is not yet; the time now is still for WAR!

Great moments are born when great opportunity knocks. Legends are born when they rise against adversity and achieve glory!

Get ANGRY. Get READY. GO WIN!

Keep the doom and gloom out until after they are eliminated.

Keys to get back into series:

1. Breakout cleaner

2. Get better goaltending (no more freebie soft goals or out of position completely goals)

3. Swap JT for Domi on the PP and run 34 - 16 - 88 - 44 and Domi on first unit.

4. Just get pucks on net for rebounds and tips, Toronto has moved away from this like what they did against Tampa last year.
