After losing their last game in a penalty shootout against the defending champions Colorado Avalance, the Kraken are back in action with the first of three games this week.
This time around they'll play their closest rival from up north, the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks changed coaches this week and won their first game under Rick Tocchet(who was rumored to become the Kraken coach before Dave Hakstol was named) just yester day.
This means the Kraken will be rested and playing yet another opponent on the back end of a back-to-back and should try to take advantage of that.
Though, in order to do so the team needs to first beat Vancouver for the first time ever and also win for the first time ever after having a three day break.

3 Keys to the game
1) Play solid defensively
The Canucks might not have a great season but they can still score(only seven goals less than the Kraken) and punish you for defensive mistakes.
Given that Justin Schultz will be out for some the Kraken need to find their balance defensively and need Cale Fleuy to do a decent job with his minutes.
2) Overcome offensive challenges
The Kraken have been scoring very well this season but are missing a couple of players which forces Hakstol to make some line changes and play guys higher in the lineup.
Therefore the team needs to find a way to keep playing their offensive style and create chances, even if guys are playing higher up and tougher matchups then they are used to.
3) Special Teams
The overall numbers look bad but the pk has actually been somewhat better as of late, but it's still not good enough to win consistantly, if you don't dominate 5v5.
Offensively the power play needs some improvement cause it's still nowhere near where it was at the start of the season and it's hurting the teams chances to win games.

This should be a very intersting one.
The Kraken will finally try to beat the Canucks while Vancouver just brought in a new coach and is coming of a win.
The Canucks started Collin Delia last night which means Spencer Martin should get the start against the Kraken.
The Kraken might also miss a couple of guys besides Schultz and Schwartz which would change the lines and add pressure on guys like Sprong or Donato.
Anyways, let's hope the boys will be ready for this one and as always...
