The Coyotes are 20-18-3-2 all-time versus the Panthers with a 6-10-0-0 record in Sunrise, Florida.

Injury Updates:
Nick Schmaltz (day-to-day): Craig Morgan reported that he is on the trip and nearing a return.
Matt Dumba (Out): He will miss the three game road-trip before the all-star break in hopes that he returns healthy afterwards.

They're on a road trip. You take extras in case of an injury. Dumba stayed home on this trip.

Plus he needs a practice or two to get acclimated to a new partner.

That's likely the case. There are certainly some aspects that Bear and the coaching staff want to cover with call-ups before they hit the ice for a game.
