Neither Dvorak or Perlini can "earn" powerplay minutes, but Burmistrov, McGinn, and Holland are in there. Amazing.

Pretty sure that Perlini has only been up for a handful of games. How much responsibility do you want to put on the shoulders of a kid one year removed from the amateur leagues? As to Dvorak, are you kidding? He and Holland are equally dangerous as scoring forwards at this point. Let him adjust to the NHL this year and see how he does with big power play minutes next year.

Jeez, these guy aren't even shaving once a day and you want to overload them, for the sake of 5 or 10 points. Both are getting a good amount of ice time and are developing well in their rookie year.

McGinn and Holland are placeholders, we all know that. They aren't in the lineup or in the power play to push the team forward in the standings. They are there to give the young players more time to develop before burdening them with responsibilities that they just aren't ready to shoulder.

Not to stick up for the negative Nancy's, but in fairness to them - they think the lads would be better developed with more ice time. Of course we'll never know, which makes the constant complaints all the more ludicrous.

Well, I look at as Burmistrov earned the spot by being the only player on the team who has yet to have trouble executing for Tippett

Never change David!

How did Burmistrov earn a 1st pp line role already before his first game with us? Dude hasn't scored all year...

He's "proven". Experience is the "magic ingredient." "It just is."

And it has been shown time and time again in our on ice results, so I can see why we're sticking with it.

This feels like the 900th time we've played Edmonton this season. Once again, I hope we win, and I hope it's an extremely boring trap game where we score the game winner after the puck bounces off a linesman and somehow ends up in the net.

Boy, that'd make for some entertainment over on Forum 38.

Or just maybe they want to see what he can do???

:dunno:

Agreed.

Burmistrov: former 1st round pick
Holland: former 1st round pick

Although that doesn't guarantee top 6 (or 9, or 12) status on any team, it does mean that their skill set is still strong enough to position themselves for time in the lineup.

We'll just see where this goes, and hopefully at least one of Holland or Burmy do well enough in the second half of the year that we look at keeping them on next year, even if only a bottom 6 grinder for us.

Dave Tippett

Perlini is up and hot? PP is too much for a rookie to handle. :sarcasm:

:dunno:

Why not try Dvo and Perlini first to see what they can do with PP time? :dunno:

We now have to waiver fodder players being put into top-six positions all the while proving they are horrible NHL players and our high-end prospects aren't even getting a sniff because.... reasons?

Tip must be searching for his overdue Dave Moss replacement
