He was good. Agreed.
I expect much more production from Slaf.
I liked Zubrus...he showed glimpses of Jagr-esque skills at times...he just didn't have that level of skill

Neither does Slaf tbh. Although, yes, I also expect Slaf to score better offensive numbers in his career than Zubrus. But I'm not expecting him to lead our team in scoring. I expect him to bring a unique combination of attributes in the Top 6 (6'4 230 lbs skilled wingers who can play both offense and defense are rare, even if "offense" means 60 pts a season, and "defense" means playing responsibly and a few PK shifts here and there). The heavy lifting offensively will have to come from somewhere else, hopefully Suzuki-Caufield and whoever we draft in 2023. Otherwise, we're screwed.

That many D to D passes is symptomatic of an unorganized transition strategy. Where the f*** are the forwards ? Way too far.

Our D's take too much time to pass or our forwards leave too early , or a mix of both things. Anyway you can not generate anything with a transition game that slow.
Need to take it back to basics they can't do the fancy now you're right.
