As much as I want to see Backes in the lineup, he's risking a lot more by coming back too soon.

He did not look right after that hit.

We've got to remember that a concussion is a weird animal. I've seen guys get absolutely destroyed and end up missing less than a week, and then some guys look like they barely get hit and end up missing a season. You really never know.

I've got to trust that the Blues aren't going to risk the long term health of their captain, number 1 center, and face of the franchise to get him back for a series in which the Blues are up a game. If he feels good and the doctors have cleared him, he should play.

If Backes plays, hopefully he's more effective than Oshie has been following his concussion hit.
