The only reason Thrun gets 22 minutes a game is because he ends up getting pinned in the defensive zone for 2 minutes five times a game.

This is really OT since it's not about this game and I'm not even watching this game, but last night I was at a WHL game that featured the Calgary Hitmen and I had a laugh at one of the players on their roster:

Setting aside that he's a D-man, He just gave me strong "we have Alex Ovechkin at home" vibes

So my Spengler Cup watch has taken a turn for Shark-on-Shark violence.

With Canada up 3-1 and only 5 minutes left, Pardubice pulled their goalie and netted a pair of goals. Scored on Aaron Dell. By ex-Sharks Lukas Radil and Martin Kaut in order to tie it.

Oh and Pardubice is coached by Sharks draft pick Vaclav Varada

EDIT: and oh hell, as I write this and with 30 seconds left Dell gives up an uber softie for Pardubice to take the lead and barring a miracle the win. Dell still got that Shork in him.

On the upside, they didn’t just get their arses handed to them tonight like giving up 10 points or something. With that being said, beyond maybe three players on this roster no one is even noticeable…except in maybe a negative way…

Was at the game - maybe 50% attendence.

Vlasic is just unplayably slow. He accelerates worse than a broken-down Peterbilt.

Thrun was less than impressive - he seems to make some really poor decisions and was very much not good at passing. I'm gradually becoming more and more convinced that he's not going to be a legitimate NHL player, though that book hasn't been written yet.

Emberson was indeed pretty good - just kind of solid.
