Good measuring stick game. Happy we have a rested Igor. I wonder if theres any carryover from Trouba stealing souls in the playoffs, but this is a surprisingly different Canes team. Not sure if theyre better though.

I am meeting/hosting a couple of businessmen from Riga in 2 weeks here in Poland. Remind me to ask them about Art Irbe… those Latvians are very passionate about ishockey.
Bookmarked for 1/17/23. Or 17-1-23 in Poland and Riga.

Forwards flying the D zone early on 30/70 pucks ain't gonna cut it against these guys

We like to fly-by and do the poke check and chip it off the guy's blade to go the other way on transition, all in one motion, instead of going direct-line into the puck carrier and bodying him off. It's our thing.

Yeah, obvious tough opponent. Wasn't that long ago we had this teams number. I believe losing only once or twice in 5 years. Mostly a Hank thing. Shesty needs to do similar vs Canes, they will be tough for a decade at least. What we really need is a very solid HOME GAME VICTORY. 3-1 is suffice, but now that I said that it will probably be a 5-4 or 6-5 goal festivus.

How many streaks have we ended for other teams, good and bad?

Let's add the Hurricanes to the list.
Uncanny, huh? Every time there's been a huge streak and Sam has anything to say about it (PP's, no SH goals given up, etc) that streak comes to an end. It's a Sam thing.

GvA/60 over 2.00 since Dec 5th

I know Panarin and Trocheck are bad from my own eye test, but sheesh Panarin at 4.33.

Obviously biggest test of the year especially at home where this team tends to play about 50 percent brain power.

That is unacceptable. I mean... I knew it was bad... but not quite that bad.
