Well, 1st period is exactly how they should play, but then it fell a part and then lackluster effort after that.

The Coyotes got beaten pretty badly by a mediocre team. Get ready for a lot more of that as most teams still have a playoff chance.

Giving up one goal is one thing... The stupid penalty by Kessel just really got that ball rolling on the break down.

Kessel seems to be getting slower and slower

Garland dirty play at the end of the game. Butt-end of his stick to Fischer’s face. Dangerous and dirty.

The coast to coast for a goal by the Canucks player reveals more than a lack of talent on the part of the Coyotes. Gotta wonder about motivation and the d structure being coached when something like that occurs. Heck, the entire game creates serious questions.

Hopefully, we hit rock bottom after the TDL because that will mean we've moved significant assets.

First period was outstanding, work ethic on the forecheck created multiple opportunities. Sadly we didn't capitalize, or the outcome may have been different.

I don't think it was so much a lackluster effort. I think the Canucks were read the riot act in the first intermission. Something to the effect of: After the trade that went down this past summer, are we gonna let the team that too our scraps beat us? Then suddenly - viola! Garland and OEL step up and make things happen and the flood gates opened, with the Canucks looking more like we did in the first, for the duration of the game.

On the bright side: Coyotes tied for only the 2nd worst goal differential in NHL games last night; and they outscored the Oilers.

Glad for OEL & Garland.
