Carolina is a well coached team with a bunch of players that have been playing together for a long time. It showed in that first period.

I think a more physical, elite shut-down line would be huge for this team. It could take some of the tougher minutes and provide a spark that is sometimes lacking. Tanev and Gourde sorta play that role, but they are both rather small players, and they have embraced more of a "try to generate offensive scoring chances" role than a defense first mentality, so I feel the team is still lacking that presence.
