Definitely going to be tough to beat them twice in two days but we have to string some wins together here. We absolutely can win if we repeat last night's effort. With Holtby in net probably.

Nothing like having the last place team get within one point and have a game in hand to spur a little extra effort eh?

No, they did good and took advantage of Winnipeg.
A few deflections and the Score, Senators 5 - Calgary 1

score first dont let up and demko plays in the zone.
Back to back, so they may opt to put Holtby in. But, not a tonne of work for Demko yesterday and no travel. Holtby either gets this game or the Toronto game next. Doubt they would play Demko 3 games in 4 nights with a travel day in between. More unlikely to beat Toronto than Winnipeg, so probably best to put Demko in tonight.

Second of back to back games on the road so, naturally Holtby is in net. If they were going to annoit Demko as starter from the get go why did they bother acquiring an expensive veteran goalie who is used to playing as a #1? I don't get it, makes no sense...

I'm cool with playing Holtby in this case but the starts should still be swayed significantly in Demko's favour for the rest of the season.

If we can have some form of closure on the goaltending position moving forward this season, that'll make this season much more beareable.

Agreed. Demko is the future. We should be playing him as much as we can regardless of his performance.

Should have been like this from Day 1.

Still can't believe they rolled out Holtby as the opening day starter.

Good , hard working game by the Canucks last night...Tonight it wont be as easy, and I'm sure that the Jets wont concede 3 early goals. Its good to see that the Canucks best players are starting to play like it...Ehlers and PLD were non factors last night.

I'm guessing that were getting the Jets backup tonight (Brossoit). He looked very sharp in his last outing against us in Van.

Other than the Senators, it would be nice if the Canucks could sweep one of these series against division rivals..wouldnt it?

Next game is vs Toronto, so realistically despite this being B2B, I'd would have gone Demko since there is no travel. Just given the chances of beating Toronto, probably roll with Demko in this game.

If Demko continues to play as he has recently, we definitely have a chance of beating Toronto with him in net.

We haven't had more than a 1 game winning streak this year since Ottawa - who has since become a juggernaut.
Let's make it a 2 gamer boys! :towel:
