Get ready for UFC 229 y'all.
I have to admit.. I don't have a good feeling about this game. The Flyers are going to be a difficult matchup IMO. They're another team on the rise with better middle six depth than ours already in place. Their defense, is just as up and coming, and their forward group is young but more experienced. The only place I think we have an advantage is goal-tending. We'll see how this turns out lol.
We definitely have the advantage in net on paper, but backup caliber goalies always seem to give us fits. Hope we pick up where we left off and just pour it on.
I dunno, I think the two teams match up pretty good honestly.
If the Avs play the same high intensity, heavy forecheck game they played last time, they'll do well.
Flyers Defense really doesn't scare me much aside from Provorov.
Can't wait to see Pickard put up a 60 save shutout and vindicate everyone who says we should have kept him.
If we stay out of the box I think we win this. Philly's powerplay is diiirty.
Wait, are those really their top 2 goalies? Or is someone injured?
Neuvirth injured, Lyon injured.
Ahhh. Forgot about Neuvirth. I was gonna say....wow
I always forget how young Philly is. Even their vets (Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Couturier) aren't that old. Should be a good game.
Philly is an exciting team right now. I'm pumped to get to see them play in person.
Today could be a let down game with how fired up the team was on Thursday, but I have faith we'll match up well.
I'm optimistic. Avs played well in the opener.
It's a bummer Barrie hasn't been traded yet, but we can't all get what we want I guess.
Cleaning out some things. Discovered this:
Consider it an omen, if you want.
Let's start the game on time and play the full 60 minutes.
Go Avs, Go Leafs
I know that the Flyers brass were getting really impatient at how constantly injured Neuvirth was last year, so he's gotta be on his last legs now this season.
I am not saying we will win, but shut this team down if we can't put at least a minimum of three behind Elliott today.
PHI seems like they always match up well against us, esp when they play in Denver
its been like that forever.
To me i would give the Flyers the edge up front, Avs the edge on the back end, and Avs the edge in net. Should be an exciting one that could easily go either way. Lets hope Varly comes to play tonight! GO AVS GO!
The Avs need to be ready to work, then they'll have a good chance to win this.
Barberio is in tonight, Nemeth hurt
MacKinnon is going to have a huge game. He only had 1 point last game, and that's just unacceptable.
If they can shut things down like they did against Minny they have a good shot
Condolences to @21.
Maybe more fitting for the game @ the City of Brotherly Love, where the Liberty Bell resides, but patience isn’t one of my virtues. Ring their bells, Avs.
