Not pretty, but 2 more points in the book. Sway first star. JVR making himself at home in Boston and in front of the net. PK was great, Carlo and DeBrusk especially. 3rd line continues to be the best by far and Poitras is a big part of that. 4th line does its job.

Lots to sort out with the chemistry of the top 6, and some of the defense particularly in front of the net needs to improve, but they've faced two weak-middling teams they needed to beat and got the job done. Time to go on the road and do some team-building on and off the ice.

Was I the only one expecting an October tragedy?
Seems like when the heartbreakers happen they’re in October…

Kings a few years back.

Didn’t Anaheim get a fluky win late recently?
(last year, maybe?)

Can we complain? Ugly but god damn it, that’s a hard fought win. Great defense. Great goaltending. Key goals at key times. A perfect goal on a penalty shot from our Pasta.

Also, the team looks big. And they look feisty. Take no shit. Coyle of all people is mixing it up when that was a thousand miles to the left of his game.

I am entertained. Better than I thought would have been possible through two games.
