Hawks are a garbage team though. Boy have the had an easy/soft schedule so far. I have to give props to Jim Henning for that.

The win against the Jets means squat if they don't win this one...Canucks get gifted another team that is playing on a b2b (although, the travel is fairly inconsequential)
If all 3 of the top lines are rolling, it shouldn't be a problem...When you have the worst PK in the league, (and 6th worst 5v5 %) nothing comes easy for the Canucks, and the Hawks have several players gifted offensive players that could make them pay.

I didn’t watch the whole game but Caleb Jones and Connor Murphy got trapped out for a shift where the oilers changed lines 3 maybe 4 times. It was a 4:55 long shift.

Made a Myers shift look normal.

C'mon, this is another gift from the scheduler.
The last game they won but had to hang on by their finger nails to win. A tired team and were still outshot and needed Demko to steal the win.

Now Chicago comes in, Back to back, less than 24 hours and 3rd game in four nights, again.
Do they slay the dragon? Hardly, what they are facing is a wet dish rag, wrung out.

Will the "game managers", the ref's give Vancouver carde blanche again? Zero penalties? Or zero penalty kills? Both those teams were 1/2 as the worst on the PK in the league.

Chicago is a bit better on special teams.

Even if the Canucks win, if, they are still 26th in league standings and 7 th in the division, trailing behind the rebuilding teams, SJ, LA and Anaheim all of which have games in hand.

AND THEN GUESS WHAT?

The schedule gets hard!

That might change things because Fleury has typically been lights out versus the Canucks in his career. Add to that Debrincat has been scoring like crazy. This might be less of a guaranteed win then some might think.

Chicago was outplaying Edmonton in the 1st until their backup goalie let in 4 in the 1st period..

They could very easily put up a big fight today against a worse team, but fleury is garbage so I think the Canucks pull out a high scoring win in OT or something.

Feels good watching the Hawks being terrible after doing a Benning-style all in play in the summer. The pain of the OEL trade was eased the same day by the even worse Jones trade/signing.

Hawks gave up their first this year too. I'm hoping they draft 2nd overall this year and then 1st overall next year so they hand Bedard to CBJ. Giving CBJ 3rd overall this year would be pretty nice too.

I'm on team win for this game, then back to team you know what.
