Not from the stars does Bergevin’s judgment pluck;
As methinks I have covered astronomy,
But he’s here to pump the Hab’s evil luck,
With fancy-assed hairdo, and his new coach’s quality;
But nor can Mo fortune to Pricer’s goaltending tell,
Pointing to beseech his wingers, with pain and wind,
He prances with media princes if it shall go well,
But oft we predict that to hell he’ll descend.
Rally from his eyes - thy PLD’d result is derived,
And, our second line stars, in them they read such art
Pucks fly from clapp’d bombs - we together shall thrive,
Let Lurch shake thou Gallagher, Toffoli and slay their convert;
The well-rested Jets of whom I prognosticate:
Is the seal of Habs’ defenders and forwards doom and date.
Please never stop doing these. It's the highlight of game day to me - often better than the game itself. :thumbu:

MTL is a good team. i wonder if they'll get the "new coach" boost we sometimes see (ie: PIT, STL, DAL in recent years).

Price seems to be holding this team back a bit though.

i am not expecting a pretty game for us from a shooting quantity/quality point of view, but we got the better goalie and Special Teams so those are the ultimate equalizers or game changers.

Nice GDT Retro :thumbu:

Am I missing something? Didn’t we aquire PLD to gain depth at C? Yet we are not doing that.. Is this Mo being Mo?
Or, have I missed the beat?

Oh, and GJG:cool:

Maurice typically sticks with a winning hand until it doesn't work.
Don't be surprised if we are down that PLD will be 2C by mid-game.
But if D-S-W can rock another 2 or 3 goals then giddy up.

I have no idea what to expect from this game but:

Jets after multigame break - Not good
Jets playing a team right after they change coaching staff- usually not good
PLD in lineup - Good
Helle starting to play well - Good
Jets recent success - Good
Habs recent failure - good

so is anyone saving these posts?? just occurred to me that you could make a coffee table book outta these gems. Srsly families could form traditions where a reading of one of these pros before a game. I know I'd buy one.

It's worse when you know people who are Habs fans. They really get my dander up.

GJG

I used to be one of them. I mean when the Jets left in 1996, you had two choices, adopt other NHL teams, or become an AHL fan, and get excited about the likes of Greg Pankiewicz, Brad Hauer, an aging Scott Arniel and Randy Gihlen, Freddy Braithwaite, and the likes of Jimmy Roy. When we affiliated at least there was some decent players to watch coming up the ranks.

But when your wife/gf leaves you, you either move on or take up country music:laugh:

I chose the Habs because there have always been Habs fans in my family. Anyone born in the 40s and 50s was a fan of a Original Six team, and Montreal definitely had an allure by the 60s and 70s.

I've slowly come back to my first love, a little wounded by her departure, and less conflicted by the fact she wasn't the same love that left me, she had lost some of her lustre when she did come back, with her GST rebate. I'm now old enough to like country music, and be proud of my roots.
