Big Game Story: This is first of 5 meetings between the Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings, new Pacific Division rivals. The Canucks took 2 of 3 last season, including a 1-0 win in the most recent matchup on March 23 at Staples Center. It's been a little over 18 months since the Kings started their improbable run to the franchise's first Stanley Cup title by upsetting the Canucks in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Now these opponents may find themselves battling just to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs in a division where the Kings currently sit fifth despite being four games above the .500 mark. GO KINGS GO !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -
NOV-9-13Schedule_zpsd4faa90c.png

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Going to the game, gonna wear my Palffy Jersey. Please win!

Man I miss Carter. The Canucks fans are right. Our second line looks so weak without Carter. :(

Lets blow them out for Carter!

I expect Brown to be like a robotic stud bull in a field of female cattle. Win or lose, those Canucks will be sore

I think it will be a good game and the Kings have had success vs the Nucks. I think they'll be very motivated for this game.
And although the Kings have to adjust for the loss of Carter's threat to score (actual goals he had only 1 (a credited shortie ) since 10/9 at the time of the injury) , I think TT (and his 6 SOG's in his first game) has shown he's not afraid to shoot and will be a threat to score on that line. I don't like King there, he's the weak link but Sutter doesn't have a lot to work with...yet.

I think the Specialty teams are interesting.
Kings 6 on PK and 20 on PP
Nucks 27 on PP and 2 on PK

I'm hoping that the weak PP will lead to maybe Kopi and Richie getting some SH attempts.
but 2nd on the PK means that 1st unit might have to really be perfect pasing and decision making, i.e. leave the right players out there and put Richards as QB

And I love that shot of Kessler on his knees begging to the ref.

Can honestly say I've never heard of Ryan Stanton.

When we picked him up on waivers that was the reaction of our fan base... " who the eff is this guy.... Meh ahl or echl signing"

Boy were we wrong. This kid has been a revelation. The kid is so steady, rarely makes mistakes, smart plays. And he's only 22. And he did this to Andrew déjardins after he snowed Lu. Also means we don't have to dress Andrew Alberts

http://youtu.be/u7ZRw8DukEg

As for your old boy richardson... Well he's simply been terrific. 5 goals , two shorties. He is the anchor on our bottom 6, especially while missing weise, Hansen ,booth and Schroeder. Works his ass off.

The interview where Richardson speaks highly of Sutter has been bandied about on these boards lately, nonetheless, Sutter banished him on the bench in favor of the completely worthless Fraser far too many times. Richardson is a very solid bottom sixer: speed, tenacity, and borderline dirty from time to time. I'm glad to see he's doing well

unlikely. the problem hasn't been possession, as you might imagine with the sedins: the problem is more like a hesitance to take chances. goaltending has been excellent this year, so what you'll see is the twins and kesler cycling for a minute and a half to create one perfect look, only to have it gloved anyway. it's a problem right now, but it's not an issue where the top unit is dangerously inept.

edit: oh, and this should be a great game. closely matched division rivals with lots of history? puh-lease! hope it lives up to the potential...

If you guys wanna know about richardson, he has been the best third liner for our team this year, doing everything.

Tortorella called him a dog and a bone type player.

I've had this game circled on the calendar. Not only should it be good, I'm very curious to see how the Canucks look under Tortorella.
