Sharks have given up 3+ goals in the last 6 games in a row, and 10 times total this season.
In the 4 games they have held the opponent to 2 or less goals they are 4-0.
In the 10 games they have given up 3 or more goals they are 3-4-3.

Sharks have gone to OT 6 games out of 14 total. They are 3-3 after regulation
All 3 of the Sharks wins come in OT.
Only 1 loss is in OT, the other two losses are in the SO.

As much as we, me included, rip on Jones' bad play this year, among starters (goalies with 8+ games) he is average to a little below average.
His GAA is 2.69, 16th in the NHL.
His Save% is .900, 20th in the NHL.
His HD Save% is .809, 22nd in the NHL.
He faces the 3rd least shots against per 60 at 27.17, league average is ~31.6.
He faces the least rush attempts against per 60 than any other goalie at 0.7, about half of league average 1.46.
Average goal against distance is 25.63 feet, 5th furthest among starters.
These numbers seem to infer that Jones is a below average goalie more than anything, which will probably look even worse if you take out the backups from the equation.

The way I see it is a mixture of Jones not playing well while also getting a defense not playing well to go with poor coaching decisions to make those matters worse than it has to be. Dell is only playing slightly better but I'm always a proponent for playing your backup more early in the season to save your starter for down the road. This is especially true when he's playing better. With the schedule this week, both should get a couple starts out of the four in six they're playing.

If Hertl plays 3-2 Sharks
Hertl, EK65, Logan
Zucker, Stall

If Hertl is out 4-2 Wild
Stall, Zucker, Neido, Granlund
Meier, Burns

Is that legal? Lol if not I guess we'll go with the Wild 4-2 snog.

I'm okay with Hertl being out. Better to be safe. It also gives Shovels a chance to get back in the lineup before he gets permanently Heeded.

Yup, better to play it safe with head trauma. Just hope it really is just precautionary.
