Calgary was named after Calgary on the Isle of Mull, Scotland, United Kingdom. In turn, the name originates from a compound of kald and gart, similar Old Norse words, meaning “cold” and “garden”, likely used when named by the Vikings who inhabited the Inner Hebrides.

In 1875, the site became a post of the North-West Mounted Police (now the Royal Canadian Mounted Police). The NWMP detachment was assigned to protect the western plains from US whisky traders, and to protect the fur trade. Originally named Fort Brisebois, after NWMP officer Éphrem-A. Brisebois, it was renamed Fort Calgary in 1876 by Colonel James Macleod...

June tends to be the rainiest month, and January tends to be the coldest. Calgary weather follows no rules though and many locals will say, “if you don’t like the weather, just wait a few minutes”. Sound familiar... Not only that, Calgary can have a snowstorm in every month of the year. Tragic...

Another major weather phenomenon in Calgary is the Chinooks. The Chinook winds can raise the temperature by as much as 20 degrees in a matter of hours. These are quite popular in the winter as they provided some relief from the chilly weather. However, the pressure also changes and some people get migraines...

Aside from Kadri the roster shuffles they have made are a failure so far. Darryl Suttor looks clueless but dosen’t he always look that way? Lol

This has all the hallmarks of a trap game. Two teams going in opposite directions. Hopefully the Jets don’t feel fat and sassy. That would have a bad ending. GJG!!!

Further to the trap game, Jets in recent years have come out sluggish after a few days off. Lets hope that is not part of the Bowness system and is a thing of the past.
