This seems to be the usual early season panic. But we are missing the fact that we have a few of new pieces, Roslovic and Laine and Koivu. It is going to take some time to fit the pieces together. As long as we are hanging in the upper echelon of our division while adjustments are made, we will be fine.

This is art.

The “numbers don’t lie” is sarcasm, as many advanced statistic gurus like to use whatever numbers they can come up with as player defining facts that can’t be argued with in any way.

These same numbers supposedly showed a completely different thing about Korpisalo and Bobrovsky not a long time ago, and people used it as PROOF that what has happened the last couple years in their careers wouldn’t happen.

People thinking Korpisalo is good, doesn’t make him good. He had to FORCE people to think he’s good. His own fans mind you. Sad.

Would be more like Laine, Nyquist, Texier, Korpisalo, no??

I’d say the D is not close to being better than it was. Having Murray back would be huge.

It's still an offensive issue, you need goal scorers/big time players. We have Laine, Bjorkstrand, Texier, a question mark in Domi and some prospects in Marchenko and Chinakhov

Nyquist is a pretty good scorer .. Jenner could be a 25g guy , who knows what Atkinson is currently .. rough start . Foligno 15-20 ???. We have talent . Torts system of having forwards dropping back to always help D neuters offensive production . Last week on Torts / Hockey & Hounds he admitted that when Panarin came here , he told him he would make exception and not to worry about the neutral zone and play offensive hockey . What does that statement tell you .

Not much. Panarin is/was a one of a kind player that made everyone better. Who knows how Laine will impact the team but I doubt it will be on the same level assist wise it was with Panarin. That being said he is VERY much needed. Jenner isn't and wont return to being a 25 goal guy. He's an effective 3rd liner on a good team, same thing with Foligno. Not saying they aren't effective but they are hardly top of the league top 6 players. Also Nyquist is what he is at this point, if he scores 50 points a year that's a great year, he's not getting any younger and certainly will help but isn't going to save us either. We desperately need more talent and it's on the way in Marchenko and Chinakhov but they are still unknowns at this level. Need someone like Stenlund to really break out offensively. That or trade someone like Werenski for another effective goal scorer/center.
