Seeing the product on Sportsnet and its current lack of polish makes me wonder why the NHL didn't insisit in them doing some preseason games.

You just signed the biggest contract in NHL history , giving the rights to relatively new player on the national broadcast scene. Do they ensure they have a good product my Canadian standards, nope, they use the preseason to increase revenues.
